Willow Grove Principal's Message ~ May 3, 2019

Willow Grove Principal's Message ~ May 3, 2019

Principal for the Day

Miss Olivia from the Giraffe class was my Principal for the Day today! Principal for the Day is part of the PTO Bingo silent auction.  We had a great day together while Olivia kept everything running smoothly.  We also had some other helpers, Miss Caroline, and Nurse Shaan, helping us out today in the office!  In addition to our office staff, we had many "teachers for the day" and various helpers throughout our school, including librarian, gym helper, and an announcement helper!  Thank you to our parents for your donations to our PTO!

A Message from Miss Olivia:

I had a great day today!  First I helped with announcements and I also checked on classrooms.  The kids were listening and following directions.  I also gave out paws at recess!  My favorite thing was eating in the teacher's lounge!

Hand-Me-Down Donations Accepted

As I'm sure you're aware, the population of our students does tend to have accidents from time to time, given their age.  The nurse has extra clothes, if needed, but is extremely low on pants.  If you have any hand-me-downs your child has grown out of that you wouldn't mind donating, we'd love it!  Pants that would fit girls or boys between the ages of 3 to 6 would be wonderful, sizes 4T-7T or youth XS-M.

If your child has borrowed clothing from school, please return it.  Please also make sure your child has a change of clothes (season appropriate) at school.

The following is repeat information from last week's blog, but still current.  You can skip this if you already reviewed last week's message.

Kindergarten Music Performace ~ Friday, May 10th ~ You are Invited!

I can't believe it's almost here! Parents, you are welcome to attend as we celebrate our kindergarten year. The doors will open ten minutes prior to the performance. Parents will enter the gymnasium doors located in the South parking lot. There are two doors that will open at the same time. Parents may line up at either marked door. As we have two back-to-back shows and gym class later in the day, parents are asked to exit out the same doors, promptly at the end of the show. We are looking forward to this memorable event!

At Willow Grove and throughout District 96, the safety of students is always our number one priority.  As such, please expect to see a police officer on site while we have many visitors enjoying the performance.  We regularly partner with our school resource officer for the security of our students.

Performance: Singing Into Spring!
