PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO)

Students in Breakfast with you Buddy

The purpose of the District 96 Ivy Hall Parent Teacher Organization is to promote and support the educational community and the social activities of Ivy Hall Elementary School.  The PTO strives to provide clear and current communication to our stakeholders through the weekly PTO BLOG updates (https://www.kcsd96.org/ih/pto/blog) and our Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/IvyHallPTO/).  We have built strong, cooperative relationships with local area businesses, as well as with our teachers and school staff. The PTO works to enrich the educational experience to our students through a myriad of activities organized by dedicated parent volunteers.

We hope you will plan to support and volunteer at many of our upcoming events such as:

  • Frozen Treat Friday* – Ice cream novelties are distributed to students at lunch one time a month, for those students who have purchased a Frozen Treat Friday card, which is valid for half of the school year.
  • Special Lunch* – Once per month, we work with local restaurants to bring in an alternate lunch option for those who wish to purchase.
  • Fall/Spring Book Fair – Held during the school day with an evening for families to shop the fair
  • Ice Cream Social – Held annually in the fall, a great way to meet other Ivy Hall families and visit the Book Fair, families invited!
  • Pizza/Bingo – Held annually in the spring, a fun family night which includes Bingo, dinner, silent auction, and an opportunity to visit the Book Fair; families invited!
  • Picnic – Held annually in the spring towards the end of the school year, a celebration of the end-of-the-school year; families invited!
  • Family Nights - Held throughout the year, which may include seasonal celebrations, food trucks, or game nights!

* Contact us (email [email protected]) to purchase a Frozen Treat Friday card or Special Lunch meals outside of our twice-yearly sales periods.

These events ~ which our community truly enjoys ~ helps to make our school community thrive.  The IH PTO membership fee is $10 per family per school year. The IH PTO also requests a contribution of $3 per student to offset the costs of the three PTO classroom parties (Halloween, Winter and Valentine's Day).  These fees are collected during the student registration process.
