Did you know that most vaping liquids contain nicotine – even if the label says it doesn’t?  In fact, all JUULS contain nicotine, which is a highly addictive drug and can prime the brain to become addicted to other substances.  E-cigs and other vaping devices such as JUUL are not safe!

Wednesday

Do you know what the chemicals benzene, formaldehyde, cadmium and lead all have in common?   1.  They are all cancer causing chemicals that can be found in items such as gasoline, batteries, paint, and car exhaust.  2.  They are also all chemicals found in the liquids used for vaping.  Vaping is not harmless and can be dangerous to your health.

Thursday

According to research, teens who vape are 3 times more likely to smoke regular cigarettes.

Friday

Illinois Youth Survey

Every two years, our 8th graders participate in the Illinois Youth Survey.  The purpose of the IYS is to better understand youth attitudes and behaviors that can impact student problems and academic success. It will ask about topics including nutrition, physical activity, bullying, tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use. Students will be asked to complete a survey (with no names or identification numbers) that will be confidentially administered during one flex class period. The survey is completely voluntary and privacy will be strictly protected. Please click this link for further information.
