On what will be a “journey towards normal,” we are excited to share the following layers of mitigation that will not be necessary to open the 2021-2022 school year.
-No longer requiring daily self certification. Rather, by signing and returning the district acknowledgement form, sending your student to school each day is certifying that your student is symptom free
-Moving from 6 feet of distancing to 3 feet of distancing, accommodating an additional 1,000 students
-Resuming normal food service operations
-Resuming special lunch and dessert day activities
-Resuming locker and “cubby” assignments
-Reopening of locker rooms for student use
-Removing restrictions on “shared material”
-Resuming all clubs, activities, and sports with mitigation measures in place.
-Eliminating classroom relocations when a student or staff leave with symptoms.
-No masking outdoors (regardless of vaccination status).
-Using the “Test to Stay” option in order to minimize in-person learning disruptions (view the linked video for more information).

Locker Set Up Day
Locker Set Up Day will be Tuesday, August 17th from 4:30 PM-6:00 PM.
This is a fully masked event for all participants.
During this time, the school will be open for students to set up their lockers and walk through their schedules.  Classrooms will be locked but the building will be open for students to walk their schedules. This is a great time to practice locker combinations.

The PTO will be set up on the stage in the Cafeteria. There will be a few laptops available if you are unable to create and set up a Membership Toolkit account for your child if you need assistance creating an account.

Gym Uniforms and Locks
The PTO will have a table set up at Locker Set Up with samples to view. Parents and students can take a look at the samples for sizing purposes. There will NOT be an opportunity to try on gym uniforms.

Please order PE uniforms and PE locks through MTK. (Please click HERE to access the Membership Toolkit.) At this time, we are asking that parents only order 1 PE uniform.
PE uniforms and locks will be delivered to the PE classes once school starts.
No PE uniforms or locks will be distributed at Locker Set Up Day.

Attention 7th Graders in Orchestra and Band
In the past, 7th grade students in Band and Orchestra have had the opportunity to elect to take Art, Music, or TASOL as an independent study class. This independent study took place during the second half of the Flex period.

Starting this school year, students in Band and Orchestra will no longer have the option of a 20-minute independent study period. This change is new to the 21-22 schedule.  This will allow more consistent availability to receive support from their teachers during the Flex period.
