What’s Happening at Twin?
Spanish: As we head into May, Spanish students are winding things down.  In 6th grade, they are continuing with food vocabulary.  We are moving on to lunch, dinner and dessert.  In 7th grade, students have been practicing their interpersonal speaking skills and will be learning about direct object pronouns. The 8th graders will be continuing the preterite unit.

Band: We are enjoying a good spring coming back in person with many of our students. It is great to hear the band sound like a band again and begin to work on ensemble techniques. Students are wrapping up their SMART music activities for the year, testing on scales and honor band auditions, and will be receiving a special challenge May 3 for the month of May. Next Tuesday on May 4th we will be playing Star Wars music all day long. ( May the 4th be with you) 6th grade students not in band that day will get to experience Star Wars on May 3rd during band practice.

Orchestra: We are beginning to wrap up the year in Orchestra! All grade levels are working on their final assessments for the trimester as well as preparing for their last virtual concert.

Just a reminder to register your child for orchestra next year! Please click the link below for the registration form. These are also located on the district website. Schedules for each grade level orchestra are explained in the forms. Registration is due Friday, May 21st.

Make Lunch Plans
Parents, please help.... With many more students learning in person in KCSD96 schools, it's essential that parents place their students' free meal preorders by 6 PM on Thursday in the week before. Preordering instructions . Questions? Contact [email protected].

ALSO, please remind your students of the meal choices you preordered, so the meals they request at lunchtime are the meal options that you preordered for them. Thank you!

Parents will have the opportunity to sign up their students for Enrichment Summer School courses soon. All classes will be virtual. The link to sign up will be accessible from the homepage of the District 96 website on Mon., May 10, at 5 PM.
