What’s Happening at TG?
Spanish
In 6th grade Spanish, students have been studying adjectives. We have focused on colors, physical descriptions and personality traits.
In 7th grade Spanish, students have been reviewing tener with family and will begin to focus on er/ir verbs.
In 8th grade Spanish, students have been studying the bedroom vocab and this will lead into the house.
Orchestra
Congratulations to the 8th Grade Orchestra students on a wonderful performance at the SHS 8th Grade Orchestra Consortium last Tuesday!
Just a reminder that the 2020 IGSMA Recital Night will be taking place on Wednesday, Feb. 5th from 7pm-8pm (with reception to follow) at Twin Groves Middle School. This is for those students participating in IGSMA (on Feb. 8th) to practice their piece in front of an audience. More details to come!
The 2020 IGSMA Solo/Ensemble Festival is taking place on Saturday Feb. 8th at Daniel Wright JHS. More details to come!
Twin Groves to Host 7th-Annual Lindsey Durlacher Wrestling Championships
On Saturday, January 18th, Twin Groves Middle School will host the 7th-annual Lindsey Durlacher Wrestling Championships.

Stevenson High School Fine Arts Tour
Earlier today, the 8th graders were treated to wonderful performances by the Stevenson Fine Arts Department. This gave the 8th graders the opportunity to see the different course offerings and clubs available through the Fine Arts Department.
SIMPLIFYING STEVENSON–Wednesday, January 22nd
Simplifying Stevenson is a Q&A program for parents of current 8th-grade students.The purpose of this popular program is to give parents the opportunity to ask Stevenson seniors and Dr. Gwen Zimmermann, SHS assistant principal, questions about how SHS students choose their classes and extracurricular activities, make summer school decisions, make the transition from middle school, balance the workload, and more.
No preregistration/RSVP is needed and all interested adults are welcome.

KCSD96 Offers a Dual Language Opportunity
Parents are invited to consider the Dual Language Program for their incoming Willow Grove kindergartner. The program’s purpose is to give children the opportunity to develop a deep academic proficiency in two languages. Fifty percent of the academic day instruction is delivered in Spanish and 50 percent in English. Following their kindergarten year at Willow Grove, Dual Language participants continue at Country Meadows for Grades 2–5 and transition to Woodlawn for Grades 6–8.
To be included in the public lottery that will be used to select the 2020–21 Dual Language kindergarten class, an Interest Form (ENGLISH or SPANISH) is due to the Willow Grove Early Learning Center office by 3:00 p.m. on March 18th.
LEARN MORE about the KCSD96 Dual Language program and attend a Parent Education Evening on February 12th or March 16th at 6:30 p.m. at Willow Grove Early Learning Center to hear a presentation from District faculty/administrators and ask questions.
