TGIF...Twin Groves it’s Friday!
Today the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students particiapted in school wide kindness activities. The students began brainstorming acts of kindness after watching clips about Kindness from other peer models. The Flex classes created posters with quotes and words that were meaningful to them in. In addition, all of the students decorated a kindess rock for a school wide Kindess Rock Garden. As soon as the garden is complete, I will inlcude pictures in an upcoming Principal's Message.
Twin Groves Shines in State Science Olympiad Competition
Twin Groves students are celebrating outstanding results! Overall, they placed 6th among 50 middle school teams! Congratulations to each of these students and their sponsors for hard work, diligence, and this impressive outcome. READ MORE
We are Twin Groves...A Celebration of Culture
Please join the Twin Groves Community on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, for a Celebration of Culture!
Given the rich diversity of cultures in our shared community, we are looking forward to engaging students and families in a night where we celebrate our own culture, learn/celebrate the cultures of others, and build on a shared community culture.

Doors open at 7PM
Performances will begin at 7:15PM
Culture Fair with a variety of booths will continue after the performances until 8:30PM

What’s Happening at TG?
Spanish
In May, 6th and 7th graders will continue with food vocabulary. They will learn DOP's along with restaurant and menu vocabulary too. They will continue to build on their interpretive listening and reading skills. In 8th grade, students will be learning the preterite tense. In addition, they will finish up the year with ¿Eres tú María?
Orchestra
The 6-8 Grade Orchestra students are working hard in preparing for our upcoming "Orchestra Extravaganza" Concert on Thursday, May 9th at 7:30pm (for 6-8 Grade Orchestra)! We look forward to a fantastic concert! 2019-2020 Registration for Orchestra is open so please register your current 6th and/or 7th Grader for Orchestra next year! Registration is due by Thursday, May 23rd.
Band
May is a busy month for the band. We are busily preparing for our 5-8 Band Extravaganza, Thursday, May 16th at 7:00 PM. All students will need to be at school at 6:15 PM. The concert will be one hour in length and cookies will be served by the Music Boosters after the concert. Our 8th graders will be honored at this concert. May 15th is our Music Booster Party at Bowlero. Sign up on the Music Booster link. May 13th, the Honor Band and the Jazz Band will be traveling to Prairie and Ivy Hall to play for the students. May 21st students entering the freshmen band will be playing for the Stevenson directors during periods 7 and 8. On top of all these concerts spring recruitment is in full force. If you know a 4th grade student encourage them to join band. Twin Groves parents of 6th and 7th grade students will receive an email in the next week to register their student for band next year. Band in 7th and 8th grade is a class, no more pull outs.

Just a reminder…Students are not allowed to carry medication
Students are not allowed to carry medication during the day. Please do not send your students with medication. If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse at 847-821-8946.
Leadership Training Opportunity for Current 8th Graders
Eighth-grade students have an opportunity to participate in "Future Leaders of Stevenson" leadership training at Stevenson High School on May 13, 6– 9 p.m. Students are requested to complete THIS SURVEY and submit it by Apr. 30. Participation is limited to 75 students, so those interested should submit their survey responses promptly. The admission fee is $15. Dinner will be served.

6th Grade Dental Information
