Dental Exams for 6th Grade Students ONLY
Please note that your child’s completed dental examination has an upcoming due date, per Illinois school law. The deadline for the dental examination is due no later than May 15 of the current school year. Proof of this required dental examination must have been completed within eighteen months prior to the May 15 deadline.
If you haven’t already done so, please make an appointment with your child’s dentist for a dental examination, have him and/or her complete the required form, and return it to your child’s school nurse.

Library Books due by April 21st
In order to prepare for the construction of the new Collaboratory ALL library books must be returned back to the learning center by APRIL 21st. Although we will not be checking out books to students from Woodlawn, we encourage students to continue reading books from home, your public library, or from our ebook library, SORA. All students have access to Sora on their iPads.
We appreciate your support with helping to remind your students to get their books turned back in on time.
Any questions, please reach out to Jaime Appell ([email protected])

Finally, I didn’t want to do this, but I may have no choice. My beloved White Sox, playing the sport I love the most, are not good. This is not a newsflash, as the past number of years have been rough. Since I will soon be a free agent, I might drive down to 35th Street and the Dan Ryan Expressway to fill out an employment application. I haven’t looked at the website yet, but I am hoping that they need a hard-working, former administrator, someone who hired and managed multiple individuals, with a wide variety of personality types, and brought them together as a team on the field (school). I am sure that they need a culture expert, someone who believes in the cause and allows people to shine in their work environment. I haven’t made a resume in many years, so that should probably be a top priority on my to-do list. I mean, let’s face it, the time is right for my White Sox to get better. It seriously cannot get worse. They need people who believe in the history and tradition of this once proud organization. The Sox fans are embarrassed right now, as we have been the worst of the worst for close to 500 days and counting. I cannot even watch a Cubs game because I, as a Sox fan, cannot listen to that mind-numbing song at the end of a Cubs home victory. Through the years, I have been nice about the Cubs, and honestly, this isn’t about them. It is about my team. I would love to offer my services and help bring us back to glory, but I am probably more qualified to be a cotton candy vendor. Here is hoping that they win one game by the time you read my next blog. Go Sox.
Have a great weekend.
