Erin’s Law (Repeat)
An Illinois law known as Erin’s Law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness/prevention curriculum for Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Kildeer Countryside CCSD 96 researched and observed best practices and programs for delivering this instruction, selecting Be Seen & Heard ©. For more information about this presentation please go to www.victorpacini.com/peace-of-mind-2

This developmentally appropriate and interactive program focuses on teaching children skills to keep them safe from danger or abuse. Concepts discussed will include distinguishing safe from unsafe touches, safety rules at home and school, saying NO, safe/unsafe secrets, and telling a trusted adult, as well as reinforcing that an adult’s touching him or her is not the child’s fault.

Finally, it has been a good run.  You might be thinking this relates to my 21st year as a principal but no, I am talking about the football team I cheer for.  As a young lad, coming from a family of  DIE HARD Chicago Bear fans, it was love at first sight for me.  Yes, the helmet with a G on each side made me an instant fan.  My dad was so frustrated with his Bears back in the day that he didn’t even fight me on this one.  Now don’t get me wrong, my childhood was not easy cheering for a terrible Green and Gold team.  They were bad.  It got worse when the 80’s rolled around and the Bears were a dominant team.  In fact, the greatest single season team I ever saw play was the ‘85 Bears.  The best all around running back I've ever seen was the great Walter Payton.  Right around 1990 my team picked up a raw, gunslinger quarterback.  And since that time, things have been good for me.  Unfortunately, it feels like the party is over.  I am hoping for the best but only time will tell.  I wish the Bears well this season but am hoping for another win for my crew.  In order to amaze your family with the rivalry factoids, I am including the following:

  • The Bears' most lopsided win over the Packers was a 61-7 rout Dec. 7, 1980 at Soldier Field.
  • The Packers most lopsided win over the Bears was a 49-0 shutout in 1962 in Green Bay.
  • Four members of the 1985 Super Bowl champion Bears later played for the Packers: Quarterbacks Jim McMahon (1995-96) and Mike Tomczak (1991), defensive tackle Steve McMichael (1994) and linebacker Jim Morrissey (1993).
  •  Only one of the last 80 Bears-Packers games has been decided in overtime. That occurred Dec. 22, 2008 at Soldier Field when the Bears rallied from a 14-3 second-half deficit to beat Green Bay 20-17
  • William "Refrigerator" Perry scored touchdowns in both 1985 games against the Packers.  One was rushing and one was receiving.
  • 94.6 is the average rushing yards per game for Bears quarterback Justin Fields had over his final 10 starts of 2022. Fields became the third quarterback in NFL history to top 1,000 rushing yards in a season with 1,143
  • The Packers have more head to head wins against the Bears all-time with a record of 105-95-6
  • Green Bay is undefeated (8-0) against Chicago since head coach Matt LaFleur took over prior to the 2019 season
  • The first meeting between these two teams was November 27, 1921. The Staleys (Bears) beat the Packers.
  • Longest win streak:

Bears 8 games (1985-88)   Packers 10 games (1994-98)

  • Current win streak:

Packers 8 games

  • Postseason matchups:

December 14, 1941

Bears 33 Packers 14.

Bears won NFL Championship

January 23, 2011

Packers 21

Bears 14

Packers won the Superbowl

Have fun throwing those tidbits out there to the family.

Have a great weekend!
