Woodlawn Principal Blog 4/26/19

The energy was at a high level as students entered the building today!  It is amazing how the students have a positive approach toward school on a half day Friday in April.  I am amazed that our 8th graders will be moving on in just about a month. I have really enjoyed this group of students and know that they are going to be successful in the future.  More about these 8th graders in a future blog.

Assembly

We had a local dog training company come in and do an assembly for our students.  It was interesting to see how the group has worked with the dogs and the questions that our students brought up.   Thank you to our PTO for this fun event!

Finally, I know that I have said this before, but I am generally a very positive person.  Like anyone else, there are things that irritate me beyond belief. Here is just a small sampling of things that annoyed me this week.

  1. Purchase stickers that simply will not come off of the item I purchased.  (Barcode sticker on grill tongs I bought)

  2. People who cannot use the self service checkout counter at Target.  (Seriously, it isn’t that hard!)

  3. More snow?  (I am complaining in advance of Saturday...9% chance of 8” of snow? WHAT?!?)

  4. Slow drivers in the fast line on the highway.  (yes- a few weeks ago I said that I am a serene driver, but I still enjoy the left lane)

  5. When I do the dishes and one of my kids puts a dish in the sink the instant I am finished.

  6. Placing two different but similar looking socks on my feet.

  7. People who continually scrape their yogurt container then there is nothing left in the cup.

  8. When I am watching a movie and a family member comes in and starts asking me questions about the movie.

  9. Lists of 10 items that only contain 9 items.
