What’s Happening at Twin Groves?

PE: We are in the middle of our Dance unit and trying something new this year, which we are very excited to share with you all!  In past years, all students have been grouped together and working on creating their own dance routines.  In our efforts to provide more choice and differentiation in PE, we decided to follow suit with our other units and offer students the option of PRO or REC with dance as well.  This idea was sparked by a student suggestion!  PRO league students engage in a student-led unit where they group themselves, create a dance routine, and perform. REC league students are engaged in a teacher-led unit where they follow along learning a variety of dances.  Student feedback for this has been great so far! After our dance unit, we are moving into Trimester 3 with our final 4 health rotations and PE units.  We are very much looking forward to the weather shifting (soon hopefully!) and being able to get outside!

Health: The sixth-grade students are working on first aid for this rotation.  Students are learning about choking, EDITH plans, hypothermia, burns and much more.  In seventh grade students are learning about stress, Signs of Suicide, depression, and healthy relationships.  We will be having OMNI Youth Services located here in BG come in to work on healthy ways to deal with stress.  The eighth graders will be learning about nutrition.  Students will be creating a nutrition plan for a client along with a fitness plan.

Spanish: The 6th graders are finishing their first big piece of grammar, knowing the subject pronouns and how to use them. We will now learn our first verb, SER, and combine these skills to describe ourselves and others. The 7th graders are still enjoying their food unit and learning to conjugate ER and IR verbs. The 8th graders have completed their unit on the house and are learning to talk about who does chores in their homes. All three grades will soon begin our Mania Musical unit, a take-off of March Madness with Spanish music from all over the world.

First Ever 8th Grade Career Day
Today the 8th graders had the chance to be a part of Twin Groves’ First EVER Career Day!
Students attended five, 15-minute presentations by various professionals.
Students learned the ins and outs of the different careers, what is challenging, what is fun, what education led up to the career, and much more. It was a great day!
A Huge thank you goes out to Ms. Michele Kouletnes, for all of her hard work and planning to make this day possible.

Report Cards
As we approach the end of the reporting period, Kildeer Countryside School District 96 is excited to remind families that Trimester 2 report cards will be issued on February 28th. This marks a significant moment to reflect on student progress and achievements. We encourage parents to review these reports with their children and celebrate their efforts and growth.

To view, parents will need to log into School Insight/TeacherEase. Returning families should have School Insight/TeacherEase log-in information. For new families or anyone who does not have an account established, you will soon be receiving an email from the district. If you have any questions, please reach out to your school's front office. If you forgot your password, please ensure you are selecting "Forgot Password" on the School Insight/TeacherEase log-in page. Thank you for your continued support in fostering a positive learning environment!
