Sports Physicals- Please Read
Any 6th, 7th, or 8th Grade student interested in Cross Country, Girl's Basketball, or Soccer must have a current Sports Physical to participate. There will be no exceptions. Now is a great time for families to check and get everything in order.

Locker Set Up Day
Locker Set Up Day will be Wednesday, August 16th from 4:30 PM-6:00 PM.
During this time, the school will be open for students to set up their lockers and walk through their schedules. Classrooms will be locked but the building will be open for students to walk their schedules. This is a great time to practice locker combinations.
Locker Shelves
Often parents spend money on locker shelves which turn out to not fit or break early on in the school year. Over the years we have learned that locker shelves are really unnecessary and become a nuisance when they collapse in the lockers. As such, we are asking for you to not purchase and send these to school. Thank you for your support and cooperation.

PE Uniforms
The PE shirts and Shorts sold through the PTO are the REQUIRED uniform for all students to participate in PE. Sweatshirts and sweatpants are optional. Locks for gym lockers are required but do not have to be purchased through the PTO. Pre-order, including bundle discounts, closes the morning of August 16th. All Pre-Orders will be available for pick-up at Locker Set-Up.

NEW *School Lunch Programs*
Families will receive an email on Monday, August 7th, from Kildeer96 Food Service with a subject line of “D96 Food Service Information” that will include information on the District's online meal pre-payment system and online application site.

Has your family recently moved to the United States OR are you and your student(s) new to the district?
On Wednesday, August 16th from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM, parents that are new to the district and have students at Twin Groves are invited for a new family orientation.
This is an opportunity for parents to meet the Twin Groves administrators and learn about Twin.
Please meet Mrs. Barnes and Ms. Dolan in the Learning Center at Twin Groves.
Locker Set Up Day will immediately follow the new family orientation.
Opening Day
Opening Day will be Thursday, August 17th, 2023 from 7:45 AM - 11:10 PM.
Please note, this is a HALF DAY for students.
The first full day of school will be Friday, August 18th, 2023 from 7:45 AM - 2:30 PM.

Cell Phones
Cell phones should be securely locked in the student’s lockers from 7:43 AM-2:30 PM.
We are asking that all students have their cell phones silenced and locked in their lockers from 7:43 AM to 2:30 PM.
If a staff member sees a cell phone out, we will ask the student to lock it in their locker. If they do not comply, the phone will be taken and sent to the office until the end of the day. Students can collect their cell phones from the office at 2:30 PM.

Using or possessing an electronic paging device. Using a cellular telephone, video recording device, personal digital assistant (PDA), or other electronic device in any manner that disrupts the educational environment, or violates the privacy right of others, including using the device to take photographs in locker rooms or bathrooms, cheat, or otherwise violate student conduct rules. Prohibited conduct specifically includes, without limitation, creating, sending, sharing, viewing, receiving, or possessing an indecent visual depiction of oneself or another person through the use of a computer, electronic communication device, or cellular phone. Unless otherwise banned under this policy or by the Building Principal, all electronic devices must be kept powered-off or silenced and out-of-sight during the regular school day unless: (a) the supervising teacher grants permission; (b) use of the device is provided in a student’s individualized education program (IEP); (c) it is used during the student’s lunch period, or (d) it is needed in an emergency that threatens the safety of students, staff, or other individuals.
TG Office Hours
The Twin Groves Office opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 3:30 PM.
Arrival Procedures for Walkers or Parent Drop Off
Parent drop-off will start at 7:30 AM. Cars will enter and exit the circle drive.
Once students exit the cars, the students will enter Door 6.
Door 6 is the athletic entrance at the south end of the building.
Students will enter the building and wait in the Cafeteria or Large Gym until 7:30 AM.

There will be NO drop-off or pick-up in the main parking lot where the buses are located.
Dismissal Procedures for Walkers or Parent Pick Up
Students will exit the front entrance of the building at 2:30 PM.
Arrival Procedures for Bus Riders
Students who ride the bus to school will be dropped off at South Entrance (doors by the athletic entrance near gyms). Students will exit the bus and wait in the Large Gym until 7:30 AM.
Dismissal Procedures for Bus Riders
Students who ride the bus will exit the building through the South Entrance (doors by the athletic entrance near gyms). Buses leave Twin Groves around 2:38 PM.
Activity Bus Dismissal Procedure
Starting on Monday, August 21st the Twin Groves Activity Bus routes will begin.
Students board the buses starting at 3:15 PM. The buses typically leave between 3:30-3:50 PM.
Activity buses are available for the students who qualify for busing during the school year. If students are NOT bus riders to and from school, the students are unable to take the activity bus.
Clubs, Activities, and Study Halls
Information on our 23-24 clubs, activities, and study halls will be updated on the Twin Groves Website by August 20th.
Activities and Study Halls will start on Monday, August 21st.
The activity period for clubs, activities, and study halls is from 2:30 PM-3:15 PM.
There will be buses available for the students who qualify for busing during the school year. If students are NOT bus riders to and from school, the students are unable to take the activity bus.
Picture Day- Save the Date
Picture Day will be Wednesday, August 30th. More information to follow.

6th Grade Curriculum Night: Monday, August 28th.
7th and 8th Grade Curriculum Night: Wednesday, August 30th.
