TGIF…Twin Groves it’s Friday!
I am very excited to post my first Principal’s Message of the 2023-24 School Year!
I hope that you have all had a safe and healthy summer. The entire Twin Groves staff is looking forward to a fabulous school year!
New Faces at Twin Groves

All returning students should turn on and plug in their iPads prior to the first day of school.
Student Schedules and Locker Assignments
Student schedules and locker assignments will be available electronically on Wednesday, August 9th at 8 AM. Please look out for an email from the district on the 9th. This email will NOT come from Twin or Jessica Barnes.
Bus information will be sent out on Friday at 3:30 PM.
Locker Set Up Day
Locker Set Up Day will be Wednesday, August 16th from 4:30 PM-6:00 PM.
During this time, the school will be open for students to set up their lockers and walk through their schedules. Classrooms will be locked but the building will be open for students to walk their schedules. The teaching staff will not be present. This is a great time to practice locker combinations.
Locker Shelves
Often parents spend money on locker shelves which turn out to not fit or break early on in the school year. Over the years we have learned that locker shelves are really unnecessary and become a nuisance for the students when they collapse in the lockers. As such, we are asking for you to not purchase and send these to school. Thank you for your support and cooperation.

PTO- PE Uniforms
The PE shirts and Shorts sold through the PTO are the REQUIRED uniform for all students to participate in PE. Sweatshirts and sweatpants are optional. Locks for gym lockers are required but do not have to be purchased through the PTO. Pre-orders, including bundle discounts, close the morning of August 16th. All Pre-Orders will be available for pick-up at Locker Set-Up.
LOCKER SET-UP DAY is 4:30 P.M.-6 P.M. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 16TH
PRE-ORDERING on Membership Toolkit will SPEED UP your Locker Set Up Day process.
Spend less time in line, by pre-ordering your PE Uniforms.
If you don’t pre-order, there will be computers will be set up in the gym for you to use.
PLEASE NOTE: You may experience long wait times with limited assistance. Avoid the wait by PRE-ORDERING!

NEW *School Lunch Programs*
Families will receive an email on Monday, August 7th, from Kildeer96 Food Service with a subject line of “D96 Food Service Information” that will include information on the District's online meal pre-payment system and online application site.
To learn more about the school lunch program, please visit our District Website. Within this link, you will find menus and how to complete pre-payment for meals. New to the District? Please read for a parent opportunity
Has your family recently moved to the United States OR are you and your student(s) new to the district?
On Wednesday, August 16th from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM, parents that are new to the district and have students at Twin Groves are invited for a new family orientation.
This is an opportunity for parents to meet the Twin Groves administrators and learn about Twin.
Please meet Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Dolan in the Learning Center at Twin Groves.
Locker Set Up Day will immediately follow the new family orientation.
Opening Day
Opening Day will be Thursday, August 17th, 2023 from 7:45 AM - 11:10 PM.
Please note, this is a HALF DAY for students.
The first full day of school will be Friday, August 18th, 2023 from 7:45 AM - 2:30 PM.

Arrival Procedures for Walkers or Parent Drop Off
Parent drop-off will start at 7:30 AM. Cars will enter and exit the circle drive.
Once students exit the cars, the students will enter Door 6.
Door 6 is the athletic entrance at the south end of the building.
Students will enter the building and wait in the Cafeteria or Large Gym until 7:30 AM.

There will be NO drop-off or pick-up in the main parking lot where the buses are located.
Dismissal Procedures for Walkers or Parent Pick Up
Students will exit the front entrance of the building at 2:30 PM.
Arrival Procedures for Bus Riders
Students who ride the bus to school will be dropped off at South Entrance (doors by the athletic entrance near gyms). Students will exit the bus and wait in the Cafeteria until 7:30 AM.
Dismissal Procedures for Bus Riders
Students who ride the bus will exit the building through the South Entrance (doors by the athletic entrance near gyms). Buses leave Twin Groves around 2:38 PM.
Activity Bus Dismissal Procedure
Starting on Monday, August 21st the Twin Groves Activity Bus routes will begin.
Students board the buses starting at 3:15 PM. The buses typically leave between 3:30-3:50 PM.
Activity buses are available for the students who qualify for busing during the school year. If students are NOT bus riders to and from school, the students are unable to take the activity bus.
Clubs, Activities, and Study Halls
Information on our 23-24 clubs, activities, and study halls will be updated on the Twin Groves Website by Friday, August 18th.
Activities and Study Halls will start on Monday, August 21st.
The activity period for clubs, activities, and study halls is from 2:30 PM-3:15 PM.
There will be buses available for the students who qualify for busing during the school year. If students are NOT bus riders to and from school, the students are unable to take the activity bus.
Picture Day- Save the Date
Picture Day will be Wednesday, August 30th. More information to follow.
Curriculum Night- Save the Dates
6th Grade Curriculum Night: Monday, August 28th.
7th and 8th Grade Curriculum Night: Wednesday, August 30th.
ILC Curriculum Night, and SLC Curriculum Night: Wednesday, August 30th.

TG Office Hours
The Twin Groves Office opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 3:30 PM.
All students staying after school must be picked up from school at 3:15 PM.
