I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing Winter Break!
We will see everyone on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022.

The next Principal’s Message will be sent out on Friday, January 7th.

Congrats!
In an effort to spread positivity, Twin Groves uses our 5 Traits to recognize exemplars of the following qualities: Responsible, Accountable, Respectful, Safe, and Community. In addition to the 5 Traits, we are also recognizing students for being leaders, role models, supportive peers, brave, and positive.

As part of this focus, the Twin Groves Staff would like to recognize the following students who consistently demonstrate these qualities.

Landon Baer
Krithika Bayyapu
Katherine Byun
Kashish Jain
Reese McLelland
Adit Mehta
Tyler Nack

What’s Happening At Twin?
Spanish
In 6th grade Spanish, students have been learning about family.  After winter break, they will learn about physical descriptions and personality traits.
The 7th grade students have been learning about IR and places.  They will learn about the verb jugar and sports after winter break.
In 8th grade Spanish, AAPPL testing is done!!!  8th graders are now focusing on rooms of the house and chores.
Have a safe and healthy new year!

Band
We have just finished a fun fall with master classes, our Fall concert, and we’re now getting ready for contests in February and March. January will be a very busy month for us.
-All students will be working on solos and ensembles for class.
-Some students (those who have signed up for the IGSMA contest) will be practicing for the contest, which is on February 5.
-The contest band is underway and we’ll be working for the organizational band contest in March. We had a great first practice and are looking forward to our journey of preparation.
-On January 12, 2022, the 8th grade band students will be going to Stevenson for the 8th grade consortium concert.
-On January 31, 2022, the jazz band will be going to Stevenson for the jazz consortium.
-On February 4, 2022, we will have the KCSD 96 band festival. All students are encouraged to come and participate. The contest band will be working with Dr. Sonny Petway on their pieces for the band contest and then have master classes on their particular instrument. Students not in the contest band will have the opportunity for master classes with the various specialists and then come together for a rehearsal with Dr. Petway.

I hope you have a great break! My family will be home for Christmas.
