Principal's Message 9/14/18

9/14/18

TGIF...Twin Groves it’s Friday!

Just a reminder...we do not have school on Wednesday, September, 19th.

What’s Happening at Twin?

Spanish

Welcome to Spanish!  We are very excited to start the year with all of your kids.  We are Sra. Kumin, Srta. Myers and Sra. Pinta. In 6th grade, we are studying classroom objects and commands.  In 7th grade, we are reviewing school subjects, classroom objects and presenting about our classes. In 8th grade, we are starting our food unit.

Band

Band is off to a great start this year. The students are all back in the routine and we are working hard to prepare ourselves for all of the concerts we will be doing this year. Our 8th grade students will be heading over to Stevenson next week for the football game and halftime show. We have several students preparing for the ILMEA honor band and they will be auditioning for this prestigious group next week. The Pep band has been practicing for the last several weeks and we will be performing for a couple upcoming basketball games.

Orchestra

It has been a great start of the year in Orchestra! The students are getting back into the groove of scales, new music and new skills!. The 7th and 8th Graders are also continuing to work on shifting! We have several students auditioning for ILMEA this year on Saturday, September 22nd. There is an ILMEA Help Session for these students next Monday, September 17th from 4:00-6:00pm at SHS. This is a great way for the students to get extra help with the ILMEA music and work with other students and the SHS Orchestra Directors.
