Upcoming Events for Pumas

Here are important upcoming dates for Puma Families.  There is more info on each of these calendar items in the text below.

Monday, September 4

  • Room Parent sign up closes. Silverstein, Cotter, Davis and Smith are in need of volunteers.

Tuesday, September 5

  • Dessert Day orders due

Friday, September 8 is a BIG day!!!

  • Our first Dessert Day
  • Back To School Bash: 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Prairie
  • Special Lunch orders due (for September, October and November)

Tuesday, September 12

  • First "School Store" for the year

Friday, September 15

  • Special Lunch from Papa Johns. 

Tuesday, September 26

  • Dinner Night Out at Lou Malnati's.  More info to come, closer to the date.

 

Back to School Bash:  September 8

SAVE THE DATE:  Friday, September 8, is our Back to School Bash.  We will have a variety of games and food for all our Puma families.  Josh's BBQ will be grilling burgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers on site.  My Funnel Truck will be there with all kinds of treats, including funnel cakes, ice cream and popsicles (non dairy).  Both food services will be cash-only!

 

Wanted Yearbook Photos

Please send your photos to with the Prairie PTO Yearbook committee for consideration in the 2023-24 yearbook.  We greatly appreciate the photos, and try to use as many as we can.  

Here are some guidelines to follow when sending in photos. 

What we CAN use and LOVE to see:

  • Photos of Prairie students at school
  • Photos of students with teachers or other staff members
  • The more the merrier: The more Prairie students in a photo, the better for the yearbook.
  • Photos at events after school hours, as long as they take place at the school
  • If you volunteer at the school (special lunch, dessert day, school store, mystery reader or classroom parties, for instance) and snap some photos, please send them our way! 

What we CAN NOT use:

  • Photos with parents or any other non Prairie students (including siblings not at Prairie)
  • Photos not taken on school grounds

 

First School Store Coming

Our first School Store will be Tuesday, September 12.  Send your student with a small amount of cash (small bills please) to purchase some fun school supplies during his or her lunch.

 

Reminders:

  • Room Parent Sign Up:  Silverstein, Cotter, Davis and Smith are in need of volunteers.  
    • Sign up on MTK:  Prairie Elementary School PTO login at https://prairiepto.membershiptoolkit.com/login.  The form closes Monday, September 4.
    • It is important that your student's teacher is updated in MTK first before signing up. 
  • Dessert Day: Sign-ups for September will be due by Tuesday, September 5.
    • Sign up on MTK: Prairie Elementary School PTO - Login (membershiptoolkit.com) 
    • There will be opportunities to sign up throughout the year if you want to add this for your student, but it is only ONE membership per student.
  • Special Lunch: Forms for special lunches for the entire year are now LIVE on MTK ~ Prairie Elementary School PTO login at https://prairiepto.membershiptoolkit.com/login ~  but please note that orders for September, October and November Special Lunch will be due by Friday, September 8.  The rest of the orders will be due at a later date, but feel free to order now, if you wish.

 

Special Lunch Dates 
  • September 15:  Papa John's Pizza
  • October 27:  Original Bagel and Bialy
  • November 17:  Weiner Takes All

Please be sure to send a drink with your child if he/she orders a special lunch, as that meal no longer includes water.
