REPEAT *SAVE THE DATE - Proudly Prairie: Together We Shine*

*Seeking Performers and Families to Host Booths*

Prairie is thrilled to invite you to a special event celebrating the diversity, culture, and uniqueness that make our school community truly shine. “Proudly Prairie: Together We Shine” will be held on Wednesday, February 5th at Prairie School.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together to share and learn about the many rich traditions, customs, and stories that make us all unique. We welcome you to participate by showcasing your culture, heritage, interests, hobbies, or any special trait that represents your family—this could include traditional clothing, music, art, food, performances, or anything meaningful to you.

Whether you’d like to host a display table, share a performance, or simply attend to celebrate and connect, we would love to have you join us. Together, we can create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere that reflects the heart of our Prairie community.

Please RSVP using this link if you’d like to participate or contribute in any way. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Delahanty ([email protected]) or Mrs. Cameron ([email protected]).

We look forward to seeing the many ways our Prairie families shine together! Thank you for making our school such a special place to learn and grow.

REPEAT *Winter Weather Gear*

As we wrap up our first few days of December, you can feel that temperatures start to dip. Please ensure that you are sending your child/ren to school with appropriate outerwear including winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves. If you need assistance with outerwear, please contact the front office.

REPEAT *Safeway Communication*

As you may know, Safeway is KSD96's transportation partner for student busing. In the case that you need to speak with someone about a transportation-related issue during non-business hours (for example, when your school front offices are closed early in the morning or late in the evening), please contact the Safeway Transportation main line at 224-434-2399.

REPEAT *Medication Procedures and Handbook Policy*

As cold and flu season is upon us - reminder from our student handbook: "For the safety of all, medication must be brought to school by the parent or another responsible adult. The medication must be in its correct prescription container, showing the child’s name, the name of the drug, the dosage to be given, and the time of administration. Medication containers must be stored in the health office and students may consume medicine only in the health office." This includes acetaminophen, cough drops, or any other nonprescription, over-the-counter medication.
