Prairie Principal's Message - 9.8.23

Prairie Principal's Message - 9.8.23

Good Afternoon Prairie Families,

Our Prairie Pumas have been doing great things recently! This week we started recognizing positive student behavior with our WOW Tickets. Students earn WOW Tickets from any adult in the building when they show behaviors that align with our core values: Being Kind, Respectful, Responsible, and Ready.  Next week we will begin acknowledging our WOW Winners in the morning announcements!

We are looking forward to next week and the different activities that are planned. Don’t forget that Tuesday is Picture Day! Information about ordering pictures was sent home with students last Friday. Additional information can be found in last week’s Principal’s Message.

Today we had our first Dessert Day! Students loved their Hershey's treats during lunch. Thank you to our PTO for organizing our monthly special lunches and desserts. Our first Special Lunch will be next Friday, September 15th.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Ms. Lauren Delahanty

REPEAT *Erin’s Law
An Illinois law known as Erin’s Law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness/prevention curriculum for Kindergarten through Grade 12.
Kildeer Countryside CCSD 96 researched and observed best practices and programs for delivering this instruction, selecting Be Seen & Heard ©. For more information about this presentation please go to www.victorpacini.com/peace-of-mind-2

This developmentally appropriate and interactive program focuses on teaching children skills to keep them safe from danger or abuse. Concepts discussed will include distinguishing safe from unsafe touches, safety rules at home and school, saying NO, safe/unsafe secrets, and telling a trusted adult, as well as reinforcing that an adult’s touching him or her is not the child’s fault.
