Good Afternoon,
We are hoping that warmer spring weather is on the way to stay but in the meantime, please remember that we do go outside every day so it's important that your child is dressed appropriately. There are six weeks left of the school year and we are still learning and making the most of the time that we have left. As we navigate these next few weeks together as a school community, be sure to pay close attention to the Principal’s Message and other school communication to ensure you do not miss out on any of the fun events we have planned. We hope you have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to seeing students back at school on Monday.

REPEAT *Parent Night for 5th Graders Transitioning to Middle School*
On Monday, April 24th, parents of 5th Graders can join the “Transition to Middle School,” where they can get answers to questions they may have about their student entering sixth-grade at a District middle school. The meeting will be held via Zoom and will begin at 7 pm.
Hear from Twin Groves Principal, Jessica Barnes, and Woodlawn Principal, Greg Grana, who will discuss academics, extracurricular opportunities, and changes that the middle school years bring. A highlight will be current 6th-grade panelists sharing their perspectives.

REPEAT *Proof of Dental Exam*
Dear Parents/Guardians of District 96 Kindergarteners, 2nd, and 6th Grade Students:
Please note that your child’s completed dental examination is now due, per Illinois school law. The deadline for the dental examination is due no later than May 15th of the current school year. Proof of this required dental examination must have been completed within eighteen months prior to the May 15 deadline.
If you haven’t already done so, please make an appointment with your child’s dentist for a dental examination, have him and/or her complete the required form, and return it to your child’s school nurse.

In the event that you are unable to fulfill this requirement, the state of Illinois does permit a waiver of the examination.

REPEAT *Parent Class Placement Input Survey*
If you would like to share your thoughts about your child's class placement for the upcoming school year please be sure to complete the Class Placement Input for 2023 - 2024 survey. Full details can be found about class placement in the previous Principal's Messages starting on March 17th. This survey will close on Saturday, April 29th at 11:55 pm.
