Principal's Message 5.31.19

Last Day of School - Tuesday, June 4th - 11:45am Dismissal

Our school year is wrapping up and we are all looking forward to summer vacation.  Thank you, parents, for your support throughout the school year.  We appreciate you and we couldn't do the important work of educating your children without you.  Whatever your plans are for the summer, enjoy the extra time with your students.  Safe travels whether you are having a staycation or traveling to far away locales.  I love getting postcards, letters, or cards from your kids' summer experiences so please encourage them to send me one.  We'll have lunch in the fall so I can hear about all the summer fun!  Also, this will be our last Principal's Message for this school year.  The next Principal's Message will come to your inbox on Friday, August 2nd.

Flag Pole Assembly

On Tuesday, June 4th at 11:35am, we will assemble around our flagpole for our annual Flagpole Assembly.  Don’t miss this treasured tradition of saying farewell to our 5th graders and hello to summer for all. See you soon!

 2019 SUMMER READING/ASSIGNMENT–Remember to Read!

We encourage summer reading for all our students. This practice is important–research suggests that students can lose more than two months of academic progress if they don't continue to read during summer months.

Please see SUMMER READING for the parent letter/reading assignment info and suggested reading resources for your student (by grade level).

We Need Your Help!

It's enrollment season!  As families move into your neighborhood, let them know it's time to register for the 2019/20 school year.  It isn't uncommon for families to wait until August. It helps us immensely to secure our classroom sections.  New neighbors? Spread the word! Enrollment is happening now. School offices are open through June. Registration will continue through July in the District Office at 1050 Ivy Hall Lane, Buffalo Grove.  Also, if you haven't registered your son or daughter and are planning on attending next year, please do so right away. Thank you!
