A message from Principal for the Day - Richa

Hi my name is Richa and I was Principal of the Day on Monday, May 13th. It was a fun experience. My Co-principal for the Day, Hannah and I started the day off with breakfast.  I got a building tour and we got to see the “secret hiding places” and rooms that were unseen before to students like the boiler room. We went around the school giving kids their birthday pens and pencils. Also, during the day we interviewed many teachers about their job. One of the people I interview was Miss Sauer. I asked her questions about her job as a social worker. She has been a social worker 16 years, but 9 years at Prairie. Miss Sauer always tries to help people. Hannah and I went to classroom visits and gave informal feedback. We ate lunch with Dr. Pfaff.  Hannah and I also worked on a PowerPoint presentation about parking bikes more neatly. We called the presentation “Bike Racks.” This concludes our fun and adventurous day of being Principal of the Day!

A message from Principal for the Day - Hannah

Hi, my name is Hannah and I was Principal for the Day on Monday, May 13th. It was a very fun and exciting experience. My co-principal, Richa, was very nice. I was very happy that she was my co-principal. During the day, I did the morning announcements and announced the 6th-8th grade Twin Troves band assembly and the 5th grade Prairie band joined them.  Also with my co-principal, we handed out birthday pencils and pens, did classroom visits, gave informal feedback, and made a “How to Park Your Bike” presentation that homeroom teachers will share with their class. We also interviewed four teachers and other service providers. One service provider was our nurse Ms. Strom. We asked her some questions. She said that she got a nurse’s degree, she has been a nurse for 10 years and has been at Prairie school for five years. She said that she wanted to be a nurse because she likes to help people.

We can't wait for this fun-filled day!

We Need Your Help!

It's enrollment season!  As families move into your neighborhood, let them know it's time to register for the 2019/20 school year.  It isn't uncommon for families to wait until August. Registration will continue through July in the District Office at 1050 Ivy Hall Lane, Buffalo Grove.  Also, if you haven't registered your son or daughter and are planning on attending next year, please do so right away.
