Bucket Fillers

Annually, our 1st-graders participate in a bucket filling activity, where staff members get thank you notes, led out by our Social Worker Miss Sauer and based on the book How Full is Your Bucket?  The whole staff LOVES getting these, as the notes are ALL amazing!  One of our favorites this year was sent to our Ofis Ladys as a thank you for all their help.  The note is simply perfect!

Our Culture Fair is on Friday, March 15th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.  We are excited about this awesome event and are looking forward to seeing YOUR FAMILY there sharing out your culture and what makes you special.  We will need your family’s help. How?

  • Do you have a special dish?
  • Talent?
  • Language?
  • Customs?
  • Traditional dress?
  • Family traditions?
  • Art?
  • Music?
  • Ability?
  • Anything else that makes your family special?

Here are some other ideas if you are still wondering how your family can participate:

  • Families in public service
  • American culture
  • Special needs
  • Family structures
  • World Travelers
  • Twins/Multiples
  • Teaching words/phrases in your language
  • Bring in a video of a talent or skill to show, etc.
  • Perform your talent or skill

NOTE: If you run a booth or classroom, please know that your family does not need to stay there for the full two hours. We are just hoping to have many different representations from families and learn from and about each other.  You don't have to be an expert to run a booth or classroom. We want to learn about your experience and what makes up your family!

Here is what is signed up so far:

  • Indian artifacts
  • Traditional games
  • Indian foods
  • Chinese artifacts
  • Bollywood dance
  • Japanese artifacts
  • Indian food & drinks
  • Israeli foods
  • Chinese performances

Please fill out this form so that YOUR FAMILY can participate in our cultural celebration.

Pizza Bingo

Pizza Bingo is back at Prairie!!!  We are looking forward to a fun evening of creative bingo calling and card filling.  Our exciting "Lunch with a Teacher" raffle will be back.  Other raffles include Principal for the Day for two students, a week-long morning announcer gig, and other fun times at school and with staff members.  We hope to see your family there.  See the PTO BLOG for more information including the savings you'll have if you register early for the event (which also helps with the food order ;-).
