Happy Winter Break - School Resumes on Monday, January 7th
Winter Break Post Card Challenge
We all have fun plans for the break. We’d love to hear about the kids' winter break experiences. Whether you’re doing a staycation experience or traveling out-of-town, please encourage your child to send in a postcard highlighting their fun times to school at 1530 Brandywyn Lane, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. Each student who sends in a card will enjoy lunch with their grade level peers and Dr. Pfaff when we return from break.
USS Lassen DDG-82
Today our students participated in a Buddy Activity. This is when older students work with their younger partners for a variety of activities. Today, Buddies completed writing letters to soldiers. The soldiers belong to the USS Lassen DDG 82. The Buddies really did a nice job expressing their sentiments to the recipients of the letters. It is certainly difficult for service members to be away from their families and for their families as well. We know that our letters will be very much appreciated by our service men and women.
4th and 5th Grade Orchestra Winter Concert
The 4th and 5th Orchestra Winter Concert will take place on Wednesday, January 16th at 7pm at Twin Groves. The concert will take place in the Large Gym. Students need to arrive at Twin Groves in their concert attire by no later than 6:00pm for tuning and warm-up. It is going to be a fantastic concert! We look forward to seeing you there!
Rhythm Band Club - Seeking Members for the 18-19 School Year
Attention all 2nd graders! Do you like to play instruments in music class? Rhythm band is an extracurricular club that will meet on Thursdays from 3:00-3:45pm. If you are interested in signing up for rhythm band, please look for the sign-up form in the January 11th’s Principal’s Message (after winter break).
Rhythm band can only have 30 members and you will receive an email from Miss McShane shortly after the club is filled. If you have questions, please email Miss McShane and she will be happy to help you.
