New to conferences this year are Parent Workshops and Child Care!

Parent Workshops:  Instructional coaches will provide learning opportunities for parents during each day of conferences.  Please click on the link provided to learn more about the workshop sessions and times.  Prairie Parent Workshop Schedule

Child Care: Child care will be available at each of the elementary schools during conferences.  Children ages 2 and up are welcome to join District 96 staff in Room 23 so that parents can attend conferences and parent workshops.  There will be a variety of quiet activities available for children to participate in. Stop by, sign your child in and you are all set! Click on this Prairie Child Care link for more information.

Family Reading Night

Family Reading Night is Thursday, November 15th from 6:30-7:45. Families will be able to enjoy quality time reading with your child! The Indian Trails librarian will also be at school to share information about their programs. In addition, we will have teachers reading aloud, with fun activities to go along with each book! Our theme is Reading Takes You Everywhere.  We are asking families to arrive on time or even early if you want to purchase books from the Book Fair.

Please keep in mind that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  There will be two sessions. Your family will decide which stations to attend. Once a choice is made, we ask that you remain with your child inside the classroom for the entire session.  We look forward to seeing you there for this community event to celebrate READING!

Library News

We have been receiving calls from local libraries that our books are being returned to community libraries instead of Prairie. In addition, we also have books from local libraries here in the Prairie Learning Center. We have set them aside, so if you are looking for a lost book, we may have it.  Email [email protected] if you have any questions.

From the School Nurse

Please remember that goodie bags for Birthdays and Parties can only contain non-food items.  Please do not place candy or other food items into the goodie bags or we will need to send the goodie bags back home.  This is very disappointing and upsetting for your student.  If you are sending in a food item, please send in the original packaging.  Thank you for helping to keep our students safe!
