Family Outing Recommendation
I just have to recommend this to our Prairie families. On Labor Day, my family and I went to the Museum of Science and Industry to visit the Pixar exhibit. It was FANTASTIC! I'm pretty sure that 99% of us love movies and just as many of us love Pixar movies. The exhibit is hands-on providing the opportunity to interact with the film-making process. It is STEAM at it's finest. As a former math teacher, I was simply giddy with the amount of mathematics on display for everyone, especially kids to get excited about. Seriously, go. Your kids will thank you. :-) It will be there until January 6th.
Reminder Regarding Parent Drop Off in the Morning
Please do not drop students off at school (unless going to Clubhouse) before 8:10. Prior to that time, there is no adult supervision. Students arriving prior to 8:10 am is a safety concern. The office will reach out with individual reminders to families that are dropping off too early. Thank you for following these guidelines.

Sign Language Club meets weekly on Friday mornings at 7:45 am. Students will meet weekly to learn American Sign Language (ASL). Students are introduced to ASL including the alphabet, vocabulary (family members, colors, numbers, etc.), basic sentence structure, negatives, questions, and directional verbs. Elements of Deaf Culture are woven throughout each lesson. Students will learn to sign simple sentences and convey meaning from basic everyday conversation. There is a limit of 20 students.
