What does the Prairie Staff Value?

At the District and school levels, we hold many values close when we are working with our students.  The District 96 Values guide our work with adults and students every day. They are:

  • Best Practice, Not First Practice

  • Every Child, Every School, Every Day

  • Learning Has No Boundaries

  • Model for Others What We Expect From Others

  • Celebrate Success

Recently at Prairie, the faculty participated in activities to define what each of these value statements means to us.  The following “We…” statements are a result of our work together around what we hold close to our hearts and value as members of our professional learning community with a keen eye on doing what is best for students.

Parent Input for Class Placement 2018-2019

Next Friday, March 23rd, you will see the "Prairie Parent Class Placement Input 2018-2019" survey posted.  Please know that we welcome your input into your child's class placement for the upcoming school year for grade 1 - 5.  Be sure to read the explanation of the class placement process prior to completing the survey.  All input must be completed via the survey and remains a confidential document between the principal and parent.  If you have any questions, please contact your child's classroom teacher or Dr. Pfaff.

To see a complete list of the health form required for students, please visit our Student Services Webpage.

SMART Watches and Other Devices Such as Fitbits

SMART Watches, text capable Fitbits, and other devices are becoming present in the classroom and creating a distraction for students from their academic tasks in class.  If a device becomes a distraction it may be confiscated and stored in the office. The device will need to be picked up by the student at the end of the school day. If your child has a SMART device please review with them expectations around use at school.

Exciting news from the library!

Prairie School is so fortunate to have Barbara Rosenstock visit our school in April. She is an award-winning author of many books.  Some will be available for purchase and autographs. If you are interested in purchasing a book, please send the enclosed form to Prairie by April 9th.  That way we can have them autographed in time for her visit.
