Positively Prairie Rotations Activity
On Wednesday afternoon, we conducted our 2nd/last Positively Prairie half-day rotation of the school year. Our focus was on community building. Same grade or next grade classrooms paired up for a five-station rotation where students spent time building face-to-face relationships, problem-solving, and growing their self and social awareness. Students also engaged in an empathy awareness and building activity. It was a great afternoon and students enjoyed their time learning together and growing friendships. We will continue with our monthly Buddy Classroom activities through May.

SMART Watches and Other Electronic Distractions
SMART watches are starting to appear in our elementary schools. Many SMART watches have similar capabilities to SMART phones such as game, voice, and text capabilities. If a SMART watch becomes a distraction, it may be confiscated and stored in the office to remove the distraction from the learning environment. Essentially, we will treat the SMART watches like a cell phone. Confiscated equipment may be picked up in the office at the end of the day by the student.
