April 14, 2022

Dear Parents,

It was a refreshing week to be back to our normal schedules! We had a taste of nicer weather and I think we are all optimistic for what’s yet to come with warmer temperatures, flowers blooming, and longer-lasting sunshine into the evenings. After this week we will be down to only 6 full weeks of school. These last weeks are all about partnering together to support our students and ensure we finish out this grade in the best way possible. We couldn’t do it without you and feel grateful for this incredible community. Enjoy the weekend ahead!

Kindly,
Principal

Respectfully,

Bob Hanrahan, Principal

RENEW * Arrival & Dismissal Procedures*

Please remember when using the parent drop-off and pick-up area at Ivy Hall backing up and passing another car in the line is PROHIBITED. For the safety of students and staff members please be patient and wait for the car in front of you to proceed forward and then follow the line of traffic.

There are many rules and procedures regarding arrival and dismissal. This can be challenging to get acquainted with and even frustrating. However, these procedures have been developed with student safety as the driving factor. These plans and procedures were developed in conjunction with our Facilities Director (Sam Miranda) and the Buffalo Grove Police Department. The Buffalo Grove police and District 96 appreciate your patience and understanding as we have established these routines in the interest of safety. The first few dismissals can be slow due to staff and students learning their routines. Please be patient. The picture below denotes all the forms of transportation that we have here at Ivy Hall. Please observe the picture and note areas where walkers, bussers, and private transportation arrival and depart from here at Ivy Hall.

REPEAT *5th Graders to Visit TG on May 12th*

Our 5th-grade students will be visiting Twin Groves Middle School on May 12th at 1:00 pm.  Students will be transported by bus.  While at TG, Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Delehanty will walk students through a typical schedule including Flex, Exploratory classes, PE/Health, Technology, Clubs, Study Hall, Lunch, Sports, and how to get extra help. The principals will talk about passing periods and where to go if help is needed in any area of school life.  6th graders will provide a tour of TG after the "Day in the Life of a TG student..." overview.

REPEAT *5th Grade Music Concert*

The fifth-grade class is so excited to present their music show, “Start Your Day With A Song”.  In addition to singing, the students will be performing on the ukulele.  The half-hour show will be Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 6:30 p.m.  Please have your child wear a solid color top (no numbers, lettering or pictures) and solid color pants (please no sweatpants).  We are looking forward to seeing you! - Jane Coleman, Music Teacher
