WE APPRECIATE YOU!!!

Staff Appreciation Week

Have you ever wanted to buy lunch for your student's teacher, custodian, or office administration to thank them for all of the hard work they do to assist our kids every day? Now is your chance! Sign in to your Woodlawn PTO MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT account and buy a member of the Woodlawn staff a boxed lunch for $10. With your $10 purchase, you may leave a general message for ALL staff members, letting them know how much you appreciate them!

HELP US THANK THE WOODLAWN STAFF!!!

We are thankful every day for the wonderful classroom teachers, specials teachers, coaches, office staff, specialists, support staff, and custodians at Woodlawn!

Staff Appreciation Week is May 3–7, and we have some special things in store for them.

We need your help in letting them know just how much they mean to us! We invite parents and Woodlawn students to submit a personalized Thank You message. We kindly ask students and families to keep the messages general (that is, not specific to an individual teacher), so the entire staff can enjoy them.

The deadline for submission is Mon., Apr. 26. Please CLICK HERE to enter your message....

--Thank you from the Woodlawn PTO

Volunteer Spotlight

This month we would like to spotlight our PTO Board Members who will be peeling off this year after two years of dedicated service: Jinny Baw, Jenn Wherspann, and Elisha Magnifico.

Jinny Baw has been a rock star these past two years as our Membership Toolkit Manager. She is the one who sends you email updates through MTK. Jinny is always there to help community members navigate our online site. Whether an individual needs help creating an account or making a purchase, she patiently finds everyone the answers they are seeking. Jinny has a very calm and even-tempered disposition; her insight, ideas, and suggestions have been invaluable to us as a PTO Board. Jinny was instrumental in getting everyone refund checks for purchases made through MTK prior to the pandemic. Without Jinny's deft computer skills and problem solving, issuing refunds would have been much more difficult. Jinny also has served on the Spirit Wear Committee during her time at Woodlawn. Thank you, Jinny, for helping the Woodlawn community.

Jenn Wherspann has been co-vice president for two years. She has helped plan and implement our 6th- and 7th-grade-level lunches. This includes determining and ordering grade-level gifts for all the students. We can thank Jenn for items such as the cute pencil bags and i-Pad chargers the students have received over the years. Jenn has also helped during Staff Appreciation Week in planning two special days a year for our teachers. We thank you, Jenn, for your contribution in your role as vice president, your help on the Book Fair Committee, and the numerous other ways you have given your time and energy to help Woodlawn be a great place for our students.

Finally, we would like to recognize Elisha Magnifico again this month, this time for the role she has played as co-vice president. She and Jenn worked together to plan the grade-level lunches and class gifts. You may recall from last month that she has been instrumental in our Board's support and recognition of all of our Woodlawn staff–not only as chair of our Hospitality Committee, but also in helping plan the Staff Appreciation Week, delegated to our vice presidents. Elisha thank you for contributing your time and talents to our Board and for working hard to make Woodlawn an inspirational place to attend school.

Jinny and Jenn will be taking their talents and volunteer spirit on to Stevenson High School. We would like to say goodbye and good luck as you navigate your students through high school.

Elisha will be taking some time off as a Board member, but will still have students in KCSD96. While we will miss her on the Board, we know she still will be involved and we will get to work with her in years to come.
