HELLO WOODLAWN COMMUNITY - WELCOME TO THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR
We hope this finds you and your family doing well, staying healthy in these challenging days. Like many of you, Woodlawn PTO Board members spent the summer anxiously awaiting news of how our 2020-21 school year would start. Upon hearing the news, we realize it will look unlike anything we ever thought possible. Therefore, we have adjusted plans to align with full remote learning to start the new school year and will continue to adapt and keep you updated throughout the year.
In normal times, we would prepare for Locker Set-Up Day and plan to welcome our Woodlawn community in person. To allign with full remote learning to start the school year, we are adapting by offering more online services with direct-ship items to help you stay safe while also staying connected.
PARENTS ONLINE MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT SYSTEM
The PTO online database system called Membership Toolkit is now available and forms are LIVE. To avoid missing deadlines, please take a few minutes this week to log in to your Woodlawn PTO Membership Toolkit account. Returning users MUST verify parent and student information. If you are new to Woodlawn and have an account through your elementary school, please use the same email address and password when setting up your Woodlawn Membership Toolkit account.
Payment is made through PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
If you need instructions to create an account or assistance in how to use Membership Toolkit, please contact PTO Membership Toolkit Manager Jinny Baw.
Here are some of the items we will be offering this year through Membership Toolkit:
- Woodlawn masks (Deadline to order: Aug. 21)
- Woodlawn yard signs (Deadline to order: Aug. 21)
- Links to order new Woodlawn spirit wear
- Raffle baskets for the student body (to be offered periodically during the school year)
- Volunteer opportunities as they arise; no online volunteer sign-ups are available at this time.
If Woodlawn returns to in-person learning at any point, we will return to offering some items and volunteer opportunities, annually offered or purchased through Membership Toolkit. Updates will be provided in our monthly blog online volunteer sign-ups are available at this time.
SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS – Orders closed. Home delivery by Aug. 18.
If you purchased a School Supply Kit during the summer, your kit will be delivered to your student's home residence by Aug. 18. If you chose not to order a School Supply Kit or missed the deadline to order, the District website includes School Supply Lists by grade level.
PTO COMMITMENT TO WOODLAWN
The Woodlawn PTO is committed to supporting Woodlawn staff, students, and community during this very difficult time. We are devoting efforts to programs and events that promote community and connectedness during the 2020-21 school year. As such, we will prioritize donated funds on the following:
- to support students in new and creative ways
- to recognize and support teachers and staff
- to support the school by purchasing needed Wish List items
Together, we can sponsor many programs and activities for our students, parents, and staff.
