Congratulations to the Woodlawn Mathcounts team, who is headed to State competition on Saturday, March 5.
Woodlawn's Mathcounts 'mathletes' are one of 35 teams advancing to the State competition. Mathcounts participants included Abhinav Reddeppagari, Aditya Tiwari, Akshay Mukund, Andy He, Landon Hutchinson, Matthew Sirota, Pooja Sampelli and Rachel Varghese.
The official Woodlawn team advancing to State includes Lylian Zhu, Jingyi Wu, Alex Han and Kyler Chou.
These students are among the more than 1,053 students from 149 schools across the state who participate in the annual Mathcounts competition.
Kudos are also in order for their team coach, Amanda Carpenter, seventh-grade math teacher at the school.
