iPAD HANDBOOK

Kildeer Countryside School District 96 aims to maximize all students' learning potential to prepare them for a successful future. To achieve this end, Kildeer Countryside School District 96 provides each student with an iPad.

By providing each student with an iPad, students possess the tools and resources to be successful in today's society. Excellence in education requires integrated technology throughout our educational program. Increasing access to technology via the student iPad is essential for students of today and future students. The individual use of iPads is a way to empower students to maximize their full potential and to prepare them for college and the workplace.

Continuous dynamic interaction among students, educators, parents, and the extended community has been shown to increase student learning. Technology immersion is crucial to maintain the vital role of the teacher. On the contrary, it transforms the teacher from a director of learning to a facilitator of learning. Effective teaching and learning with iPads integrates technology into the curriculum at any time, any place. Kildeer Countryside School District 96 believes that the use of 1:1 devices will aid in developing independent, self-initiated learners, provide for collaboration and communication between students and teachers, and extend student learning beyond the classroom.

The policies, procedures, and guidelines outlined in this Handbook apply to all iPads Kildeer Countryside School District 96 students use. Additional requirements are at the discretion of each classroom teacher.
