Using the iPad at School

iPads are intended to be used at school each day. Wireless internet access is provided by Kildeer Countryside School District 96 while on District property. In addition to teacher expectations for iPad use, access to the District learning resources through the browser and iPad applications is available. The student is responsible for bringing their iPad to all classes and ensuring the iPad is charged at home daily. The student will use the iPad in class only when instructed by a teacher. Students may not use iPads in locker rooms or restrooms. Students should not lend iPads or accessories to others. Do not borrow an iPad from another student. Do not share passwords, log-in information, or usernames with others. Do not access another person's iPad without consent.

iPads Left at Home

If a student leaves their iPad at home on a school day, it is the responsibility of the student to get coursework completed by alternate means. The iPad is similar to any instructional material necessary for daily classwork. If leaving the iPad at home on a school day is a frequent occurrence, the student may be subject to disciplinary action.

iPads Undergoing Repair

Based on availability and determined by individual circumstances, loaner iPads may be issued during the repair time frame. If no loan is available, the student must complete assignments by alternative methods.

Screen Savers and Backgrounds

Inappropriate media may not be stored on the device and/or used as a screen saver and/or background on the device. The use of images of weapons, pornographic materials, inappropriate language, alcohol, drugs, R-rated or gang-related symbols will result in disciplinary action.

Sound

Sound must be muted at all times during the school day unless permission is obtained from the teacher.
