Using the iPad at School
iPads are intended to be used at school each day. Free wireless access is provided by KCSD 96 while on District property. In addition to teacher expectations for iPad use, access to the District website including school messages, announcements, calendars, and schedules through the browser is available. The student is responsible for bringing his or her iPad to all classes and for making sure the iPad is charged at home daily. The student will use his or her iPad device in class only when instructed by his or her teacher. Students may not use iPads in locker rooms or restroooms. Do not lend iPads or accessories to others. Do not borrow an iPad from another student. Do not share passwords, log-in information, or usernames with others. Do not access another person's iPad without his or her consent.
If the student leaves his or her iPad at home on a school day, he or she is responsible for getting coursework completed by alternate means.
The iPad is similar to any instructional material necessary for daily classwork.
If leaving the iPad at home on a school day is a frequent occurrence, the student may be subject to disciplinary action.
Based on availability and determined by individual circumstance, loaner iPads may be issued during the time frame of repair.
In the case that no loan is available, the student will be required to complete assignments by alternative methods.
Inappropriate media may not be stored on the device and/or used as a screen saver and/or background on the device.
The use of images of weapons, pornographic materials, inappropriate language, alcohol, drugs, R-rated or gang-related symbols will result in disciplinary action.
Sound must be muted at all times during the school day unless permission is obtained from the teacher.
