Kildeer Third Grader Earns Honors in National STEM Competition

KCSD96 salutes Kildeer Countryside third-grader Shivansh Tripathi, whose project Lung Transplant Using Stem Cells garnered 2nd place in the ExploraVision contest.  Shivansh collaborated with three other students to earn the honors in the national STEM competition.

The award ceremony takes place the first week of June and each student in his project will receive $5000.

Shivansh's parents applauded the District's curricular focus on science and technology at Kildeer School this past year.

“We can see immense growth in him and his performance. Ms. Ohnsted has been phenomenal in everything she does, and we are so lucky to have her as Shivansh’s class teacher,” she noted. Shivansh attends remotely.

Created in 1992, ExploraVision hosts the competition for K–12 students, engaging “the next generation in real world problem-solving with a strong emphasis on STEM,” according to the organization’s website.
