Kildeer's Principal Message - 9.9.22

Good Afternoon Kildeer Families,

We are looking forward to next week and the different school-wide activities that are planned.  Monday afternoon students will meet their Buddy Class and participate in an activity together that demonstrates Rule #1 from The Energy Bus - Create a positive vision.  This positive vision will prepare them for the Cougar Fun Run on Wednesday morning.  Since Monday is our first Buddy Class Visit, we encourage students to wear Kildeer spirit wear or Kildeer school colors to school.

We have two opportunities for students to get involved!  Officer Essig has asked students for help in decorating his office.  Students are encouraged to submit friendly and welcoming signs.  Decorative signs can be turned into the main office until September 30th.  More information can be found in the virtual backpack.

I also want to thank Mrs. Hitcho and all the parents who drive their children to school each day.  Morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up has been running very smoothly and we appreciate everyone following the guidelines that keep us all safe.

Please take a few moments to read some information pertaining to Kildeer Elementary as well as district-wide information.

EnJOY your weekend!

Mrs. Karen Cumpata

REPEAT *Erin’s Law*

An Illinois law known as Erin’s Law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness/prevention curriculum for Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Kildeer Countryside CCSD 96 researched and observed best practices and programs for delivering this instruction, selecting Be Seen & Heard ©. For more information about this presentation please go to www.victorpacini.com/peace-of-mind-2

The focus of this developmentally appropriate and interactive program is to teach children skills to keep them safe from danger or abuse. Concepts discussed will include distinguishing safe from unsafe touches, safety rules at home and school, saying NO, safe/unsafe secrets, and telling a trusted adult, as well as reinforcing that an adult’s touching him or her is not the child’s fault.
