PTO Executive Board OPENINGS!! Interested in meeting other parents, being involved in your child's school and being "in the know" about school happenings? Consider a PTO Executive Board position for the 2023-24 school year.

Movie Night Coming Up
- What: 1st and 2nd Grade Movie Night ("The Bad Guys")
- Where: Kildeer School Cafeteria
- When: Friday, April 14 ~ 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Join us for a fun-filled evening to watch the movie "Bad Guys" with all your friends, coming this Friday April 14, 2023. Students get to eat popcorn and candy with their peers and then go watch a fun movie in the library! You don't want to miss out on Movie Night!!
Please keep in mind:
- The movie will begin promptly at 6:45 p.m. Drop-off is at 6:30 p.m. inside the school.
- NO BLANKETS, STUFFED ANIMALS, OR PILLOWS WILL BE PERMITTED. You may bring your own seat cushion as long as it is not plush/cloth. Seat cushions are available to purchase on our Membership Toolkit.
- Pick-up is promptly at 8:30 p.m. inside the school.
- You must be present to sign your child in and out.
- This is a drop-off event. No walk-ins will be permitted. This event is ONLY for Kildeer 1st- and 2nd-grade students. No siblings will be allowed to stay.

Spring Book Fair Coming
- What: SPRING BOOK FAIR
- Where: Kildeer School, Small Gym
- When: April 17-21, 2023
It's that time again: To give you another opportunity to provide books and activities to your students, we are thrilled to be hosting another Scholastic Spring Book Fair.
Fair Times:
Monday, April 17 – Thursday, April 20, 2023
The fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and open from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, during our Kindergarten/1st Grade Evening Story Time.

Support Classroom Libraries
Each year, teachers pick out new books to help build their classroom libraries for children to enjoy.
If you wish to donate to your child’s classroom library, you may send extra money, and a parent volunteer will help your child choose a book for your teacher.

Join Us for Evening Story Time
- What: Kindergarten and 1st Grade Evening Story Time
- Where: Kildeer School Library and 1st Grade Classrooms
- When: Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Calling all incoming and current 1st graders! Please Join us for a night of reading fun ~ Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Kildeer Countryside School.
Kindergarten students, who will be attending Kildeer Countryside next year (2023-24), can visit the school with their parents, get a brief concert from our chorus and meet the current (2022-23) 1st grade teachers! Current 1st graders can share their classrooms and show our future students how much fun it is to be a Kildeer Cougar!
Current 1st graders, please wear your favorite Cougar Wear, and let’s show our new families our Cougar pride!
Kindergartners, please wear your favorite Willow Grove wear so we can be sure who will soon be a part of our Kildeer family!
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Our Spring Book Fair will be open in the small gym to families from 6 to 8 p.m. Evening Storytime will begin at 6:30 p.m in the library.

For 5th Graders
- What: 5th Grade Night OUT
- Where: Woodlawn Middle School
- When: Friday, April 28, 2023
- Check in time: 5:30 p.m.
- Event time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Calling all 5th Graders!
Come meet other 5th Graders for a night out! We will have a fun-packed night where students will be participating in team-building activities at Woodlawn Middle School in an effort to become more familiar as we embark on the transition to Middle School.
Here are the details:
- Pizza and snacks, drinks, and ice cream will be provided.
- Event is from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration on the day will begin at 5:30 p.m. to ensure all activities can begin at 6 p.m. sharp.
- Students will be provided an event T-shirt, take-home gift and name tag.
- Students will be divided into groups of 15-20 to participate in stations.
- Be sure that your child wears comfortable clothing and shoes, as some of the activities will require physical activity.
**We will do our best to order the correct number of shirts for students. We cannot guarantee that your child will get the exact size, but will always size up!
Parent volunteers are needed to support the activities and supervision: This is a great opportunity for you to meet parents from our partnering school, as well. Please consider volunteering!
Please sign your child up on MTK by April 17 to ensure we have enough supplies. Thank you so much!
5th Grade Transition Day
- What: 5th Grade Transition Day
- Where: Kildeer Small Gym and Woodlawn Middle School
- When: Wednesday, May 31, 2023
Our 5th Graders are getting ready to go to middle school. The PTO presents a fun party to send them off. This event will take place during school, the afternoon of May 31, 2023. This will be a fun afternoon of playing games and celebrating the end-of-the-year.
Compliments of the Kildeer PTO, students will receive pizza, dessert, yearbooks, entertainment and other end-of-year surprises/goodies.
5th Grade Variety Show

- When: Tuesday, May 2 at 5:30 p.m.
Hello Kildeer 5th Grade Families!
We are so excited to be putting on our 5th Grade Variety Show. This is a show to showcase our talented 5th graders. From singing, dancing, or exhibiting special skills, now is the time for you to shine!
If you are one of our entertainers or helpers our Rehearsals dates are as follows:
- April 25: 2:05-3:30
- April 26: 3:05-4:30
- April 28: 3:05-4:30
The Variety Show begins at 5:30 p.m. May 2. We will have our final practice after school (the kids will stay after school), and then the doors will open at 5 p.m. for spectators. Can't wait to see everyone there!
Family Picnic
- What: Family Picnic
- Where: Kildeer Playground Area
- When: Friday, May 19 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Join the PTO for our Annual Family Picnic. Mark your calendars and grab your chairs and blankets for Friday, May 19, 2023. This is our last PTO event of the year, and it’s always a blast!
This is a rain-or-shine event. We will have food, desserts, games, a performance from Kildeer 1st graders and chorus, a DJ, and more. Don’t miss out on the fun!
