Thank you to all the parent volunteers and Room Parents who came out and helped with our Halloween Parties!! The kids had so much fun! We are so lucky to be part of such a great school community! Below is a look ahead at what we have in store for November and early December.
KILDEER COAT DRIVE IS ONGOING...
As we enter fall and chilly weather, it is important to remember those who are not as fortunate as many of us. It's that time of year when we start to clean out our closets, so please consider donating your gently used coats and winter apparel to the Kildeer Coat Drive. Give back by participating in our annual Kildeer Coat Drive! Our collection will be donated to Little Fort Elementary in Waukegan, where many kids depend on donations. Collection boxes are located in the main hallway at Kildeer until Fri., Nov. 15. Thank you!!
OUR ROOM PARENTS ARE BEGINNING TO WORK ON CLASS GIFTS!
If you plan to contribute to the class gift this holiday season for your child's teacher, please send your money as soon as possible. Our Room Parents are working hard coming up with ideas for gifts for our teachers and it is easier for them if they have all the donations in earlier rather than later. The suggested donation is $20, but you can send in any amount to the Room Parent in a check via your student's backpack. Thank you!
THE ANNUAL 5TH-GRADE VARIETY SHOW IS JAN. 31!!
The 5th-Grade Variety Show has been changed to Jan. 31! This means applications will start the beginning of November and rehearsals will be scheduled. Please have your children start thinking about their performances and what they would like to do! Keep an eye out for more information coming home with your fifth grader. NOODLES & COMPANY FUNDRAISING NIGHT IS TUES., DEC. 3, 4–8 PM
Kildeer is trying something new this year! Tired of Thanksgiving leftovers? Stop in Noodles & Company located in the Deer Park Shopping Center (20530 N. Rand Rd., Unit 201, Deer Park) for a delicious meal and Noodles & Company will donate to the Kildeer PTO 25% of all sales made 4–8 p.m. You must mention Kildeer PTO when ordering in order for the Kildeer PTO to benefit. This is easy fundraising–please spead the word and stop by! Look for the ad on our Facebook and Instagram account and feel free to share it to your social media pages to help get the word out! Thank you!
TOYS FOR TOTS ANNUAL TOY DRIVE
In partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps, Kildeer is kicking off the Annual Toy Drive to support Toys for Tots! Bring in a new unwrapped toy for a less fortunate child Nov. 20–Dec. 11. Collection boxes will be located in the main hallway at Kildeer starting Wed., Nov. 20.
OUR NEXT HOSPITALITY DINNER IS MON., NOV. 25
It's almost time for our fall conferences and our Hospitality Committee is busy planning a nice dinner for all the educators who will be involved with conferences. Many of our teachers do not go home before conferences and they really appreciate the PTO providing dinner for them on this exceptionally long day. Please keep an eye out on Facebook for how you can help contribute to the meal. Thank you!
BOX TOPS COLLECTION GOES ALL YEAR!
Help the PTO earn funds to purchase supplies for our school by sending in your Box Tops! Box Tops can be found on many household products, including General Mills, Ziploc, Annie's, and much more! Classrooms have collection envelopes and are currently accepting physical Box Tops; however, there is an easier way to collect Box Tops. New this year, download the Box Tops for Education APP and scan your receipts to submit Box Tops electronically! Our fall collection is over, but please continue to send in your Box Tops or Scan your Receipts throughout the year! Box Tops scanned now will apply for our winter collection, which begins in January. Thanks!

2019–2020 COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITIONS OPEN
Consider sharing your time and talents with the Kildeer PTO!
Interested in meeting other parents, being involved in yoru child's school, or even being part of his or her day? Consider chairing a PTO committee for the 2019-2020 school year. There are many different opportunities available. EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES available for Committee Chairperson positions. If you have questions or may be interested in a committee, please contact Marlene Aaron or Rebecca Bacci. Thank you for considering volunteering your time and your talents to the Kildeer PTO. We could not offer these programs for our students and school without your support!
We are asking ALL–both RETURNING chairs and NEW chairs–to go to the Kildeer PTO MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT to sign up. Log in to your family account and you will find the sign-up on the home screen.
We are still in need of chairs for our Bingo Blast Committee. Organize the family BINGO event, including Silent Auction, raffles, and food sales. Coordinate the collection of items for the raffle and BINGO prizes. Organize committees that will be responsible for volunteers, prizes, decorations, set-up, advertisements, etc. Event Date: Fri., Feb. 21, 5:30–7:30 p.m.
We are still in need of chairs for our Evening Story Time Committee. Coordinate the evening with Principal Vail Kieser. Pick out a story and readers for the event. Publicize and invite all Kildeer first graders and Willow Grove kindergartners who will be attending Kildeer School the following fall. Event Date: Thurs., Apr. 23, 6:30 p.m.
Please share this information with friends/parents you think might be interested in chairing a committee next year, including families with incoming first graders. We would love to have as many families as possible involved in the wonderful activities we plan for students at Kildeer. Membership Toolkit Instructions – Sign Up Today!!
The PTO uses an online database system called Membership Toolkit to organize our school activities. This system will better assist us in conducting business, organizing our volunteers, and streamlining our communications to you. Plus, parents can pay for events by credit card and easily view what they have purchased!
A friendly reminder regarding Membership Toolkit, please be sure you Complete the Checkout Process by hitting “PLACE ORDER.” A receipt will pop up on Membership Toolkit immediately after you place your order and then you will be emailed a copy of the receipt shortly after you place your order. If you do not receive a receipt, then your order wasn’t placed. Thanks so much!
Let’s get started!
1. Click HERE to access our Kildeer PTO Membership Toolkit webpage. If you have already created an account to order school supplies last year, your account is still valid – just log in! If you are new to Membership Toolkit, you will need to create an account using your personal email address.
2. Update your Family Information from the link on the homepage. Validate your family contact information and update your student(s) current grade in school. If you have a student who is now at Woodlawn or another school, click the box to indicate they are no longer a student.
3. Sign up!
o PTO Chairperson Sign-Up – we are still in need of Chairpersons for Bingo Blast, 5th-Grade Transition Day, and more! Sign up today!
o PTO Committee Volunteer Opportunities – Get involved in the Kildeer community by volunteering for one of our awesome committees! There are a ton of ways to support Kildeer – sign up today!
o PTO Dues – If you did not pay PTO dues during school registration last spring, you can pay via Membership Toolkit.
o 2019-2020 PTO Value Package- Get ahead of the year and save! Purchase your family's Package today! It includes food, admissions, and more to Ice Cream/Pizza Social, Movie Night, Bingo Blast, and the Family Picnic.
4. Checkout! Once you have made your selections, click the “Proceed to Checkout” button at the bottom of the screen. Make payment through PayPal or a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover). Sorry–no checks or cash can be accepted for pre-pay events or items.
