Welcome back from Spring Break! The weather outside is finally feeling like spring and we are in full swing planning our Spring PTO activities! Please read the blog carefully to learn more about our Spring Bookfair, Evening Storytime for incoming and current 1st graders, 1st- and 2nd-Grade Movie Night, and 5th-Grade Girls' Night Out.
1ST- AND 2ND-GRADE MOVIE NIGHT: Fri., Apr. 12, from 6:30-8:20 p.m.
Please join the Kildeer PTO on Fri., Apr. 12, at 6:30 pm at Kildeer School for a fun Movie Night featuring Ralph Breaks The Internet (PG). The movie will begin promptly at 6:40 p.m. Drop-off is at 6:30 pm INSIDE THE SCHOOL. NO BLANKETS, STUFFED ANIMALS OR PILLOWS WILL BE PERMITTED. You may bring your own seat cushion (or purchase one on Membership Toolkit) as long as it is not plush/cloth. Pick-up time is promptly 8:20 p.m. inside the school. You must be present to sign your child in and out. This is a drop-off event and there will be no walk-ins permitted. This event is ONLY for Kildeer 1st- and 2nd-Grade Students! EVENING STORYTIME
Calling all 1st Graders! Please join us on Wed., Apr. 24, from 6:30-7:30 pm for Kildeer's Evening Storytime. This is a fun event just for incoming kindergarteners and current 1st graders. Come and welcome the future Kildeer students, show off your classroom, and hear stories read aloud by your 1st-grade teachers.

SPRING BOOKFAIR IS COMING!!

Our annual Scholastic Spring Book Fair is right around the corner. The Book Fair will run Mon., Apr. 22nd, through Thurs., Apr. 25. Each class will have set times on Monday and Tuesday to preview books and make their wish list. Purchase times for each class will be designated on Wednesday and Thursday during school hours, but if you can’t make it then, the Book Fair will also be open during our Evening Storytime Event on Wed. Apr. 24, from 6–8 p.m. Stay tuned for more details on your student's class Book Fair schedule and volunteer opportunities to help at the Book Fair!
ATTENTION 5TH-GRADE GIRLS: Girls' Night Out Fri., Apr. 26, 6–8 PM
Graduating elementary school is a BIG accomplishment. The transition can be a big one, as all of the girls from Kildeer and Country Meadows come together to start their middle school years. The PTO wants to help our girls celebrate while easing that transition.
Buy a ticket for your daughter so she can attend the big party on Fri., Apr. 26, from 6–8 p.m. 5th-Grade girls will get a rare chance to celebrate with their friends while meeting new Woodlawn-bound friends from Country Meadows Elementary school. We will have a mix of games and food to enjoy as they get to know each other.
The party will be held in the Woodlawn gym, giving the girls a chance to see the school. Each girl will also receive their first Woodlawn branded T-Shirt.

KILDEER FAMILY PICNIC COMMITTEE – Help Needed!
Please join us in finalizing the details on our last party of the year, which is slated for Thurs., May 23! This is such a fun event that our kids look forward to at the end of the school year. We have lots of opportunities to help via email. Committee meetings are already underway and will take place in the evenings, on weekends, or electronically, making it easier for all parents to give their time! We welcome all to join our committee! We already have some seasoned chairs, but many hands make light work! If you’re interested in learning more about this opportunity please contact Kim Connolly.

We have assembled our Nominating Committee and are now looking to fill several open positions for both our Executive Board and for Committee Chairpersons for the 2019–2020 school year. Interested in meeting other parents, being involved in your child's school, and being "in the know" about school happenings? Consider a PTO Executive Board position for the 2019–2020 school year. We are currently looking for someone to fill the following positions: Vice President, Disbursements Treasurer, Deposits Treasurer, Secretary of Operations (Membership Toolkit), and Recording Secretary.

SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS for the 2019/2020 School Year
We are pleased to announce that we are again offering the convenient services of back-to-school supply kits through EPI, Inc. for the 2019-20 school year! Order a supply kit for your child and it will be ready for pick-up at Meet-the-Teacher Day at Kildeer in August. You can make your purchase by logging into the Kildeer PTO MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT. **Make Sure to Update Parent and Student Information, ensuring the “Current Grade” for each student is the grade they are in for the 2019/2020 school year. Note: School Supply Kit Orders will not present correctly if this information is not updated. The PTO will accept orders through Friday, May 31, 2019. Once the sale closes, you will NOT have another opportunity to purchase a supply kit. These school supplies will be used during the 2019-2020 (next) school year, so skip the lines and hassle at the store and purchase your kit next week!
ATTENTION ALL 5TH-GRADE PARENTS: Ordering a School Supply Kit Through the Woodlawn PTO
You can order your current 5th grader’s school supply kits for 6th grade using Woodlawn's PTO MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT.
Please log in with your existing username and password. Click on “Family Information” at the Home screen. Verify (or add) your Parent Information and then click “Next Step” to ADD your current 5th grader as a student. Please select their grade as 5th grade. Once you save your student information, you will see the School Supply Kit form for your 5th grader under your Home screen on the Woodlawn Membership toolkit and you can proceed with an order. You can pick up your 6th-grade school supply kit at Woodlawn on Locker Set-Up Day in August.

Just a friendly reminder, our PTO is bringing in Original Bagel & Bialy for lunch on Fri., Apr. 12! If your child signed up, he or she will have a choice of Turkey on Challah, Pizza Bagel, or Chicken Noodle Soup.

DESSERT DAY
Delicious and Smart School approved new treats have been added to the Dessert Day program! There will now be 3 non-dairy options, as well as new ice cream cup flavors for your child to choose from. Dessert Day is offered every Thursday and your one-time purchase of a Dessert Day Card will enable your child to enjoy the dessert of his/her choice weekly for the entire year! Membership Toolkit Instructions – Sign Up Today!!
The PTO uses an online database system called Membership Toolkit to organize our school activities. This system will better assist us in conducting business, organizing our volunteers, and streamlining our communications to you. Plus, parents can pay for events by credit card and easily view what they have purchased!
Let’s get started!
1. Click HERE to access our Kildeer PTO Membership Toolkit webpage. If you have already created an account to order school supplies for the 2018-19 school year, your account is still valid. Just log in! If you are new to the Kildeer PTO Membership Toolkit, create an account using your personal email address.
2. Update your Family Information from the link on the homepage. Validate your family contact information and update the current grade level for each of your students at Kildeer this 2018–19 school year. If your former Kildeer student has moved on to Woodlawn Middle School, click the box to indicate that he or she is no longer a Kildeer student.
3. Sign up! The following forms are currently available:
- PTO Chairperson Sign-Up – We still are in need of chairpersons for 5th-Grade Variety Show and 5th-Grade Girls' Night Out! Sign up today!
- PTO Committee Volunteer Opportunities – Get involved in the Kildeer community by volunteering for one or more of our awesome committees! There are a ton of ways to support Kildeer. Sign up today!
- PTO Dues – If you did not pay PTO dues on the online registration form for the 2018–19 school year, you can pay via Membership Toolkit.
- Special Lunch – View the menu options for our Special Lunch program and select your entrees for each child. Please note that if you have more than one Kildeer student, you will need to sign up for Special Lunch for each child.
- Dessert Day Cards – Sign up for a Dessert Day card to get a treat every Thursday.
-5th-Grade Variety Show DVD – Capture the memories by a professional videographer! Order your DVD of the 5th Grade Variety Show performance today for only $20 per DVD copy.
-1st- and 2nd-Grade Movie Night- Purchase your admission and concessions for a Movie Night at Kildeer featuring Ralph Breaks the Internet.
-5th-Grade Girls' Night Out- Purchase your admission to this fun and engaging event that combines both Kildeer and Country Meadow girls at Woodlawn Middle School. Your admission includes the cost for food and a Woodlawn T-shirt!
4. Check out! Once you have made your selections, click the "Proceed to Checkout" button at the bottom of the screen. Make payment through PayPal or a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover). Sorry–no cash or checks can be accepted for pre-pay events or items.
