Thank you to all the parents who donated items for the Welcome Back to School Hospitality Lunch served to the Kildeer Staff last week by our Hospitality Committee. If you missed out on this chance to bring food or donate funds for our wonderful teachers and staff, know that there will be three other opportunities to help in this way during this school year. Keep a lookout on this blog and on the Kildeer PTO Facebook page for opportunities to help with the other meals. You can sign up to volunteer on the Kildeer PTO MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT and you will receive an email with a Sign-Up Genius listing the specific various food items requested for donation.

ROOM PARENT VOLUNTEERS
We need a Room Parent for the following Kildeer teacher's classrooms: Ms. April, Ms. Ohnsted, and Ms. Markiewicz. Have fun in the classroom organizing classroom parties, coordinating teacher gifts, and supporting other PTO activities in the classroom. The Room Parent does not have to attend all the parties and plan all the activities because we have plenty of other volunteers designated to help for each party. A Room Parent simply coordinates and can delegate tasks he/she may need assistance doing. If you have any questions about the responsibilities, please contact Alicia McGowan or Yvonne Wendland. Do you want the opportunity to work closely and spend time with your child in his or her class? Consider volunteering to be a Cougar Press Room Parent. This a great way to get in the classroom and help out! You get to work with each child in the class and will help scan and upload the books to go to press! Sign up today!!! DESSERT DAY FUN
Dessert Day is celebrated every Thursday during lunch in the cafeteria. Be sure you secure your Dessert Day card and guarantee that your child will get to enjoy the dessert of his/her choice every Thursday! All orders must be placed by the end of the day Saturday to guarantee a Dessert Day card for the following Thursday. Sign up now on the Kildeer PTO MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT.
You can also purchase ice cream for the class to celebrate your child's birthday! Dessert Day Birthday Celebrations deadline is Aug. 31. Treat your child's class to ice cream to celebrate your child's special day!

MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT INSTRUCTIONS–SIGN UP TODAY!
The PTO uses an online database system called Membership Toolkit to organize our school activities. This sytem will better assist us in conducting business, organizing our volunteers, and streamlining our communications to you. Plus, parents can pay for events by credit card and easily view what they have purchased.
Let's get started!
- Click HERE to access our Kildeer PTO Membership Toolkit. If you already created an account last spring to order school supplies for the 2018–19 school year, your account still is valid. Just log in! If you are new to the Kildeer PTO Membership Toolkit, create an account using your personal email address.
- Update your Family Information from the link on the homepage. Validate your family contact information and update the current grade level for each of your students at Kildeer this 2018–19 school year. If your former Kildeer student has moved on to Woodlawn Middle School, click the box to indicate that he or she is no longer a Kildeer student.
- Sign up! The following forms will be available Aug. 13:
• PTO Chairperson Sign-Up – We still are in need of chairpersons for Bingo Blast, 5th-grade Transition Day, and more! Sign up today!
• PTO Committee Volunteer Opportunities – Get involved in the Kildeer community by volunteering for one or more of our awesome committees! There are a ton of ways to support Kildeer. Sign up today!
• PTO Dues – If you did not pay PTO dues on the online registration form for the 2018–19 school year, you can pay via Membership Toolkit.
• Special Lunch – View the menu options for our Special Lunch program and select your entrees for each child. Please note that if you have more than one Kildeer student, you will need to sign up for Special Lunch for each child.
• Dessert Day Cards and Birthday Celebrations – Sign up for a Dessert Day card to get a treat every Thursday. Celebrate your child's birthday by buying ice cream for the class. Make sure to list your child's teacher and birthday–we'll work to get every celebrating student a birthday celebration date as close to his or her actual birthdate or half-birthdate as possible.
• 2018–2019 PTO Value Package – Get ahead of the year and save! Purchase your family's Package today! It includes food, admissions, and more to Ice Cream/Pizza Social, Movie Night, Bingo Blast, and the Family Picnic.
• Classroom Parent Volunteers – Volunteer in your child's classroom throughout the year. Opportunities include Room Parent, Cougar Press Parent (new this year!), and Classroom Party Volunteer. Please note that classroom parent volunteer opportunities are limited. If the request to volunteer is greater than the need, we will use a lottery system to choose volunteers and will work to include as many families as possible. Sign up for all the opportunities that interest you to increase your opportunity to be involved! Volunteers will be notified by email in September. - Check out! Once you have made your selections, click the "Proceed to Checkout" button at the bottom of the screen. Make payment through PayPal or a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover). Sorry–no cash or checks can be accepted for pre-pay events or items.
