Good Afternoon Kildeer Families,
As we wrap up 2024, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your incredible partnership this year. Together, we’ve supported our students in their learning, growth, and success, and I am so grateful to be part of this wonderful community.
Today, we wrapped up the year with our Winter Party. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to celebrate the season and their hard work before heading into winter break. Thank you, PTO and volunteers, for organizing fun activities!
Thank you again for your support and collaboration. I wish you all a happy and restful holiday season, and I look forward to seeing everyone in 2025!
Until our next adventure.
Mrs. Karen Cumpata

REPEAT *Update: I Am Me…We Are Kildeer Cultural Event*
Our 7th annual Kildeer community event, I Am Me… We Are Kildeer, is a unique celebration of all the cultures and families that make up Kildeer. The I Am Me…We Are Kildeer planning committee has been working very hard these past few months. I Am Me… We Are Kildeer will be held on Thursday, February 6th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. right here at Kildeer. We need your help to make this year’s event the best one yet!
We are excited to share that all of the spots for performances have been filled up! We are still looking for a few more families that would like to:
-
Share a food from your culture
-
Prepare an interactive booth about your traditions
Please FILL OUT THIS FORM by January 5, 2025 if you are interested in participating and/or attending.
During the event, you can expect to taste foods from around the world, witness scintillating performances, and learn about Kildeer family cultures and traditions. Mr. Tatar will also be leading our 3rd and 4th graders in amazing musical performances.
REPEAT *Winter Weather Gear*
For the next few months, we encourage students to bring boots, coats, gloves, hat, and snowpants. These items will keep your child warm while outside and are also needed if your child wants to play in the snow during recess. If your child wears boots to school, please send another pair of shoes for him/her to change into when they get inside the building. If you need assistance with outerwear, please contact the front office.
REPEAT *Safeway Communication*
As you may know, Safeway is KSD96's transportation partner for student busing. In the case that you need to speak with someone about a transportation-related issue during non-business hours (for example, when your school front offices are closed early in the morning or late in the evening), please contact the Safeway Transportation main line at 224-434-2399.
REPEAT *Medication Procedures and Handbook Policy*
As cold and flu season is upon us - reminder from our student handbook: "For the safety of all, medication must be brought to school by the parent or another responsible adult. The medication must be in its correct prescription container, showing the child’s name, the name of the drug, the dosage to be given, and the time of administration. Medication containers must be stored in the health office and students may consume medicine only in the health office." This includes acetaminophen, cough drops, or any other nonprescription, over-the-counter medication.
