Mrs. Cumpata's Cosmic Communication - 11.10.23

Good Afternoon Kildeer Families,

The end of trimester one is in the books! It’s hard to believe that we have completed one third of the 2023-2024 school year. With Halloween behind us, teachers and students enjoyed a regular 5 day week of instruction.

The students enjoyed their first cultural arts school assembly of the year.  The NED Show came to Kildeer on Monday and shared a positive message with the students about not giving up, encouraging others and doing one’s best.  They delivered this message through “yo-yo” storytelling, which the students really enjoyed.  Thank you so much to our generous PTO for bringing the NED Show to our school and purchasing a yo-yo for every student!

Have a WONDERful weekend!

Mrs. Karen Cumpata

We are excited to share information with you about our I Am Me… We Are Kildeer school and community event.

Our 6th annual Kildeer community event, I Am Me… We Are Kildeer, is scheduled for Thursday, February 8th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This night is a unique celebration of all the cultures and families that make up Kildeer. You can expect to taste foods from around the world, witness scintillating performances, and learn about Kildeer family cultures and traditions.

Please join us in celebrating what makes us different and what brings us all together. It's not an accurate representation of our Kildeer community without you!

We are looking for presenters, performers, and attendees! Regardless of whether you want to share a delicious dish, sing a song on stage, or join with your family, please FILL OUT THIS FORM to express your interest in participating or attending.

We look forward to sharing this amazing and WONDERful night with you!

NEW *Club Parent Pick Up Reminder (back parking lot)*

We are so happy to be able to provide after school club opportunities to Kildeer Cougars! Our club sponsors would love to remind all families the importance of safety during parent pick-up. Please remember to stay in line, following around the sidewalks to allow students to enter your vehicles safely, or you may park in the front parking lot and walk to the back. If you park in the middle of the back parking lot, you must exit your car and walk to the sidewalk to get your child.  Thank you for not pulling alongside other cars and asking your child to walk between vehicles. We cannot allow students to walk or run across moving traffic because we want to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your partnership with this!

REPEAT *Family Reading Night*

Our annual Family Reading Night takes place on Thursday, November 16 from 6:30-7:30pm. Our goal is to provide families with a fun night out where you can experience two different rounds of literacy-related activities (i.e. flashlight reading, building challenges, arts and crafts activity) in partnership with Student Council. This year we are encouraging families to wear comfy clothes or pajamas to Family Reading Night.  While walk-ins are welcome, please consider using THIS Google Form to RSVP if you would like to attend, as it will help us plan the evening activities. We look forward to seeing you at the event!

REPEAT *UNWANTED HALLOWEEN CANDY*

Student Council is collecting unwanted Halloween Candy.  There is a collection box by the front door, bus arrival door and a collection box in the front office.  All donations will go to local food pantries and shelters.  Thank you for your support.

REPEAT *Lightspeed Systems*

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As a part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and secure online environment for our students, we are excited to announce that we will be offering the Lightspeed Systems Weekly Student Online Activity Report to all parents and guardians of our school community.

You will receive an email from District 96 that will enable you to register for the Weekly Student Online Activity Report. Once you receive the email from our school district you will have the ability to register. Simply choose to register and follow the prompts to sign up for the Weekly Student Online Activity Report.

The Lightspeed Systems Weekly Student Online Activity Report is a valuable tool that will allow you to gain insights into your child's web history while using the school's iPad. This report will provide an overview of the websites visited by your child while using the iPad. The report is designed to promote transparency and communication between parents and the school, fostering a safer digital learning experience for our students.

The weekly activity report is only accessible to parents and guardians registered for this service. It will not be shared with any external parties, and the data collected will be used solely for the purpose of improving the online safety measures at our school. Parents/guardians will not start receiving weekly reports until their child has at least a week's worth of browsing data.

Lightspeed Parent/Student Enrollment Email Schedule: Families will begin to receive LightSpeed Parent report emails from Lightspeed. This email correspondence will allow you to enroll and begin receiving your child’s reports from Lightspeed for the following grades on or near the following dates below.
