Mrs. Cumpata's Cosmic Communication - 9.15.23

Good Afternoon Kildeer Families,

Another great week of learning is in the books! Students have been so enthusiastic and excited about earning blue and gold paws. All students had the opportunity this week to purchase a variety of school experiences through their classroom Cougar Paw Store.  Mr. Higgins and I look forward to visiting classrooms with our WONDER Wagon in a few weeks for another opportunity to celebrate positive student behavior. Thank you to our WONDERful and generous PTO for purchasing different items for our monthly WONDER Wagon.

Thank you to Mr. Emde, Mrs. Sesterhenn, and our PTO volunteers for making our Cougar Fun Run a success! We had perfect weather and the students enjoyed exercising and spending time together.  Finally, we had our first fire drill with the Long Grove Fire Department today.  The students did an excellent job of following our fire drill expectations.

Have a WONDERful weekend!

Mrs. Karen Cumpata

REPEAT *Erin’s Law*

An Illinois law known as Erin’s Law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness/prevention curriculum for Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Kildeer Countryside CCSD 96 researched and observed best practices and programs for delivering this instruction, selecting Be Seen & Heard ©. For more information about this presentation please go to www.victorpacini.com/peace-of-mind-2

This developmentally appropriate and interactive program focuses on teaching children skills to keep them safe from danger or abuse. Concepts discussed will include distinguishing safe from unsafe touches, safety rules at home and school, saying NO, safe/unsafe secrets, and telling a trusted adult, as well as reinforcing that an adult’s touching him or her is not the child’s fault.

Opt-Out Procedures

The presentation to Kildeer students will be during the school day on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. If you prefer that your child does not attend this prevention education session, please submit your written request or your questions to [email protected].
