Mrs. Cumpata's Weekly Message - 12.16.22

Good Afternoon Kildeer Families,

Our Kildeer Cougars had an enJOYable week. Students had their first PAWSitive PAW Party for 2nd trimester on Thursday, and today they spent time with their buddies.  Your child should be bringing home a family project that was introduced at buddies today.  These family buses will be displayed on Thursday, February 9 at I Am Me…We Are Kildeer.  If you have any questions about the family project, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

We are excited to welcome Jim “Basketball” Jones to Kildeer on Monday.  This is our first Cultural Arts assembly in many years!  Thank you to the Kildeer PTO for supporting our school and providing engaging and motivating speakers for our students.

Leading up to winter break, students and staff are encouraged to participate in our winter theme days occurring the week of December 19.

Monday, December 19 - Wear Green

Tuesday, December 20 - Pajama Day

Wednesday, December 21 - Wear warm, comfy clothes (sweats, sweatshirt)

Thursday, December 22 - Wear your favorite holiday shirt or Kildeer spirit wear

As a reminder, we appreciate everyone calling or emailing the office if your child(ren) are not in attendance.  If you know if advance there will be an absence, please email the classroom teacher and Mrs. Wright ([email protected]).

EnJOY your weekend!

Mrs. Karen Cumpata

NEW *Pre-Registration for Incoming 2023-24 Kindergartners*

District families with incoming 2023-24 kindergartners are asked to be on the lookout for pre-registration information being shared in a few weeks.

This year’s Kindergarten Pre-Registration will be conducted online; parents will be emailed a link to start the process.  (Families needing to pre-register their child in-person may contact Kimberly O’Neill, administrative assistant at Willow Grove Early Learning Center, at [email protected].)

REPEAT *Lost and Found*

Items are piling up in our Lost and Found which is located in our cafeteria. Gloves, hats, shirts, you name it, we have some in our Lost and Found! Please encourage your child to check the Lost and Found if they are missing items. All items will be donated during Winter Break. Please remember to label all clothing items with your child’s name as well.

REPEAT *Recess During the Winter*

For students to play in the snow, they must have snow pants, boots, gloves and jacket. This ensures that their clothes, hands and feet are dry for lunch and the remainder of the afternoon.  Students who do not have snow pants and boots can still play on the blacktop and playground area. Having a spare set of clothes (socks, shoes, pants, shirt, etc.) is a must during the winter season!

REPEAT *I Am Me…We Are Kildeer!*

I Am Me… We Are Kildeer!

Our 5th Annual community event, I Am Me… We Are Kildeer, is scheduled for Thursday, February 9th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This night is a unique celebration of all the cultures and families that make up Kildeer. You can expect to taste foods from around the world, witness scintillating student performances, and learn about Kildeer family cultures and traditions.

Please join us in celebrating what makes us different and what brings us all together. It's not an accurate representation of our Kildeer community without you!

We are looking for presenters, performers, and attendees! Regardless of whether you want to share a delicious dish, sing a song on stage, or just visit with your family, please FILL OUT THIS FORM to express your interest.

We look forward to sharing this amazing night with you!
