Mrs. Cumpata's Weekly Message - 12.2.22

Good Afternoon Kildeer Families,

A message from Student Council: Our Unwanted Halloween Candy Drive was a BLAST! Thank you to all that donated their unwanted Halloween candy. The candy has already been taken to local food pantries. Our Unwanted Halloween Candy Drive had a lot of donors with many boxes donated! Let’s keep this up for Toys For Tots!

Students with boxes of candy

Next week, we have MAP testing.  See full details below.  Please ensure that your child gets a good sleep and breakfast.  Results from the MAP test are used by teachers to make instructional decisions for your child.

The weather is vacillating.  Some days are very cold and others are mild.  Please ensure your child has the proper clothing for outdoor recess.

EnJOY your weekend!

Mrs. Karen Cumpata

NEW *Upcoming Dates*

  • Friday, December 23rd - No School, 1st Day of Winter Break

NEW *MAP Testing*

The MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment will be administered in all District 96 schools in grades K-8 on Monday 12/5 and Tuesday 12/6.  If students are absent for testing, and the make up window is still open, students will be able to make up the test.  If the window is closed they will not be able to make up the test.

NEW *Reminder from your PE Teachers*

Now that the weather has turned colder and students are wearing boots, please remember that all children need to wear gym shoes for daily physical education classes. If they are wearing boots to school, please include a pair of gym shoes in their backpack so they will be ready to participate safely each day.

REPEAT *Recess During the Winter*

For students to play in the snow, they must have snow pants, boots, gloves and jacket.  This applies to both the field and the playground area. This ensures that their clothes, hands and feet are dry for lunch and the remainder of the afternoon.  Students who do not have snow pants and boots can still play on the blacktop area.

REPEAT *I Am Me…We Are Kildeer!*

I Am Me… We Are Kildeer!

Our 5th Annual community event, I Am Me… We Are Kildeer, is scheduled for Thursday, February 9th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This night is a unique celebration of all the cultures and families that make up Kildeer. You can expect to taste foods from around the world, witness scintillating student performances, and learn about Kildeer family cultures and traditions.

Please join us in celebrating what makes us different and what brings us all together. It's not an accurate representation of our Kildeer community without you!

We are looking for presenters, performers, and attendees! Regardless of whether you want to share a delicious dish, sing a song on stage, or just visit with your family, please FILL OUT THIS FORM to express your interest.

We look forward to sharing this amazing night with you!
