Mrs. Cumpata's Weekly Message - 11.18.22

Good Afternoon Kildeer Families,

It was a fun week to be a Kildeer Cougar.  We celebrated the end of the 1st trimester on Monday with a whole school assembly.  We recognized our October Pawsitive Cougars and raffled 50 gift cards and five themed raffle baskets.  A huge congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to our generous PTO for purchasing all of the raffle items.  Students also enjoyed participating in our “Love your Passengers” spirit week.  Thank you Student Council members for putting together all the spirit week ideas.  Seeing so many families enjoying our Family Reading Night this week was so wonderful! Thank you to all who volunteered and made the event so successful!

As we head into the Thanksgiving break, I want to thank the Kildeer community for being so welcoming.  I appreciate all of your support and feel so fortunate to work with the students and families of Kildeer.   We are a team and could not do this work without each other.

Given our shorter week next week, there will not be a Principal’s Message sent out, but we will resume the scheduled messages on December 2nd.  I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday,

EnJOY your weekend!

Mrs. Karen Cumpata

NEW *Report Cards*

Trimester 1 report cards will be available online after 3 PM on Friday 11/18 for students in Early Childhood through 8th Grade.

See instructions to access the report cards online CLICK HERE.

Please contact the SCHOOL OFFICE with questions.

NEW *MAP TESTING*

All students in grades K-8 will be participating in NWEA MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessment. The MAP assessment is a normed referenced, computerized adaptive test that helps teachers, parents, and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote a child's academic growth.  Like in previous years, all students will be taking the MAP test in reading and math during the school day. Testing will take place on December 5th and December 6th.

NEW *RECESS DURING THE WINTER*

For students to play in the snow, they must have snow pants, boots, gloves and jacket.  This applies to both the field and the playground area. This ensures that their clothes, hands and feet are dry for lunch and the remainder of the afternoon.  Students who do not have snow pants and boots can still play on the blacktop area.  As a reminder, students do go outside for recess during the winter months.  Please make sure your child is prepared to go outside for recess.
