Kildeer Principal's Message- February 26th

Cougar Pride Assembly

Dear Kildeer Families,

We did it! You did it! Our students did it! Congratulations on the completion of trimester 2. I am beyond proud of our students, staff, and community for persevering throughout this trimester. I woke up this morning to the birds chirping, the sun shining, and anticipation for our assembly today.

How did the assembly go? It was a hit! We were able to host our first live zoom assembly of the year. Our remote learners participated through zoom and our in-person learners celebrated in the class while viewing through the Neat Bar.

As a principal, this is not a job that can be done alone. It takes truly dedicated individuals and that "village" we've discussed before. Today was a shining example of our "village" coming together to do some amazing things for kids. Thank you to our Cougar Pride Committee for taking on this challenge of offering an interactive assembly experience for our staff and students.

Mrs. Keller approached me and shared that her 1st graders were belly laughing. The smiles were enough proof that our mission was successful!

NEW *Materials Pick-Up*

If you have a REMOTE learner and were unable to pick-up materials today, we will have them out again next week on Monday and Tuesday outside.

Students that attend in-person will receive materials from their teachers at school.

NEW *Regarding the District 96 Online Family Directory*

We have been informed that an outside organization has accessed our District 96 online Family Directory and has used email addresses contained in that directory for solicitation purposes.

This is a reminder that doing so is prohibited, as clearly stated in the District’s online student registration form.

There is no general public access to the online Directory. To access the online Family Directory, District 96 families must have agreed to include their District 96 student’s information in the Directory.

As a reminder, no parent may distribute copies of the Directory to outside interests, including business or charity organizations. In addition, information contained in the Family Directory is not to be used for solicitation or commercial use.

Repeat *Need a refresher on protocols?*

The blog was getting a little long so I removed quite a bit of information this week. Have no fear! If you need a reminder on any of the in-person protocols or links to the social club, be sure to check out previous blogs

Repeat *Spring Parent/Educator Conferences*

Spring Parent/Educator Conferences are right around the corner!  The conference will take place on Thursday, March 11th from 5 PM to 8:30 PM and Friday, March 12th from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM.  These conferences will be 15 minutes in length, and held remotely over Zoom.  We will continue using Meet the Teacher as an electronic sign up for conferences.

Please know that the sign-up link will be sent out in a separate communication on Friday, February 19th at 7:00pm.

Meet The Teacher does not require that multiple conferences be made, but it does default to every teacher a student works with being checked.  These individuals include classroom teachers, specials teachers, related service staff, and interventionists that students work with.  Please see the picture below for directions on how to uncheck a teacher/interventionist if you do not need to meet with during conferences.
