Kildeer Principal's Message- May 8th

staff appreciation

Dear Kildeer Families,

This week was absolutely incredible. I was amazed by all of the stories, emails, videos, and gestures of appreciation towards our Kildeer staff. This has been a challenging time for us all, so please know how much your positive energy has meant to each and every staff member!

If you didn't catch it this morning in our announcements, our student council made a sweet video for our teachers. They even noticed an error today and redid it! Check out the latest and greatest version HERE!

Guidance for Parents Supporting Their Children’s Remote Learning

Our faculty and administrators continue to look for ways to support District families during this challenging time, including cultivating a happy parent-child working relationship. As many of us are also working from home with our own children, we recognize that when children listen and follow directions, there are better learning outcomes and less frustration for the entire family. We believe you’ll find this article helpful and broadly applicable, as it offers specific steps you can take as a parent to earn instructional control and respond to your child’s behavioral challenges: Seven Steps to Successful Parenting Through Behavioral Challenges, written by ELC Behavior Analyst Alexa Halbert, based on Robert Schramm’s work, MA BCBA.

This week was not only about staff appreciation, but also our PTO appreciation. One of our Kildeer traditions is to provide a volunteer breakfast during staff appreciation week. Since we couldn't do this in person, our staff surprised the PTO at Wednesday morning's meeting. Teachers held up breakfast items in the background and some even had virtual buffet backgrounds. It was a great opportunity, and the least we could do, to thank the incredible volunteers that make Kildeer a better place!

I'd like to end with a beautiful tribute from our PTO. You'll see a lot of familiar and sweet student faces thanking our staff!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead. Moms and caretakers, thinking of you! Enjoy your day!

Fondly,

Mrs. Vail Kieser
Principal
