Kildeer Principal's Message-November 1st

M&M's meet!

Dear Kildeer Families,

I'm almost positive that experiencing this much snow on a Halloween was a first for many, including me! Less than a week ago my family and I were enjoying the sunshine and a "trunk-or-treat". It turns out the weather forecast for snow was absolutely accurate for this Halloween.

All staff and students were able to gather prior to the parties to parade around and see the creativity come out in the costumes. I need to give a special shout-out to my 5th-grade friends that matched our office theme of M&Ms. I had several students ask me, in particular, which flavor I was? "I'm not sure about the flavor but I am the pink and sparkly one, of course" followed by, "Yes, pink is an actual color of an M&M but is a limited edition".

Mrs. Norman, thank you for making my dreams come true with the extra touch of glitter! That may not be an accurate portrayal of the fan-favorite chocolate, yet it was Halloween and my time to dream up the perfect ensemble! Our costumes, of course, would not have been possible without the fabulous Mrs. Fineman. While I'm at it, let's give Mr. Kenny a round of applause for getting into the spirit and rocking the green M&M.

It definitely takes a village to make our holiday parties happen. Our PTO and party volunteers made such a great effort to get treats here on time and plan such fun activities. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for making this happen! We look forward to our winter parties!

Family Reading Night

Family Reading Night is Thursday, November 21st from 6:30-7:40pm. Families will be able to enjoy quality time reading with your child right here at Kildeer! Mrs. Smith from the Vernon Area Public Library will also be at school to share information about their library programs. In addition, we will have teachers reading aloud with fun activities to go along with each book! Our theme is It's Showtime at Your Library.

Please keep in mind that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  There will be two sessions. Your family will decide which stations to attend.  Once a choice is made, we ask that you remain with your child inside the classroom for the entire session.  We look forward to seeing you there for this community event to celebrate READING!
