Dear Kildeer Families,
What started as a rainy Monday turned into a gorgeous week of weather. We had many exciting things happening this week such as our second fire drill of the year, our first buddy classrooms, and the bus evacuation drill today.
Our fire chief was extremely impressed with the timing of our fire drill and how the students conducted themselves. Please be sure to give your child a high-five on behalf of the Long Grove Fire Deparment!
Additionally, all of our school came to a stop on Thursday with the first buddy classrooms of the year. What is this? It's a time that we dedicate on a monthly basis to build our community and have all adults and students in the building focus on building relationships, learning from and about each other, and tying in social-emotional learning! The focus was on finding similarities and differences in our buddies, also promoting our I AM ME...WE ARE KILDEER family celebration. Be sure to ask your child about this special buddy time!

Thought Exchange Partnership - Parent Opportunity
Now seeking parents to fill open positions on our district Thought Exchange Partnership. If you are looking for a way to get involved, be a voice for Kildeer Elementary School, and learn about the wonderful things happening in District 96, please consider joining. Alright, parents, it's time for a quick reality check. As we head into a long weekend, I want to thank all of our families for your patience with the buses. We can definitely add this topic to "The Things I Didn't Learn in Principal School".
I fully recognize how frustrating it can be when they are not on time. Your continued calls to the office when they are running late helps our school greatly. Our Director of Transportation and our school have been working diligently in partnering with the bus company because we all share the same goal of having our students at Kildeer in a timely manner.
