Kildeer Principal's Message- May 24th

Kildeer Principal's Message- May 24th

Kildeer Families,

The weather could not have been any better for our field day and family picnic. Students and staff had an absolute blast spending time outdoors and playing games. This Kildeer tradition not only gets our students physically active, but it also works on sportsmanship and teamwork. I'm really proud of our 5th-grade helpers that were able to take a leadership role and run the games. You should have seen them in action, giving directions, and taking care of our younger students. I must say the whistles were also a nice touch!

Thank you once again for our entire staff for pitching in to make the day run smoothly. Also, a huge round of applause to our PE team for all of the time and thought put into this celebratory day!

2019 SUMMER READING/ASSIGNMENT–Remember to Read!
We encourage summer reading for all our students. This practice is important–research suggests that students can lose more than two months of academic progress if they don't continue to read during summer months.

Please see SUMMER READING for the parent letter/reading assignment info and suggested reading resources for your student (by grade level).

We Need Your Help!

It's enrollment season!  As families move into your neighborhood, let them know it's time to register for the 2019/20 school year.  It isn't uncommon for families to wait until August.  It helps us immensely to secure our classroom sections.  New neighbors?  Spread the word!  Enrollment is happening now.  School offices are open through June.  Registration will continue through July in the District Office at 1050 Ivy Hall Lane, Buffalo Grove.  Also, if you haven't registered your son or daughter and are planning on attending next year, please do so right away.  Thank you!

If you had the opportunity to attend the family picnic, then you were part of a special evening. This is one of my all-time favorite events because it brings our community together to simply enjoy! I also appreciate any time I can bring my own family around because I think it's important for everyone to see that I not only wear my principal hat, but I'm a mom, a wife, a friend, and a community member, too!

Thank you to each and every family and staff member that made this night a priority. Thank you to Mr. Tatar for the amazing chorus and 1st-grade performance. I am so very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this place that we call our Kildeer family!

Warm Regards,

Principal Vail Kieser
